Was on the Rock 2 mornings ago. Its as pretty as its been in a very long time. Caught a nice pile of 60+ smallish crappie to boot. 8-12 ft
The swamp looks really good. I plan to go Sunday morning but up the lake a little ways.

Main lake all the way up to Swearing is looking good,Just watch for the floaters.
Thanks guys. Got a buddy fighting cancer and he said he would love to go to the river catfishing tomorrow if he thinks he can make it. He has a jet boat so guess I will try that if he is feeling up to it. If not see you at the rock! Red lund- come over and say hi.
Yes the lake is good. They have pulled about 1.5 of water and that cleared the lake and most of the debris. Crappie suspended bout 10 ft in most places a little deeper in other areas. But for my money Potts Creek baits down bout 4 ft.
Tough out here this afternoon. Pulling cranks because of the wind but not doing any good. Water looks ok though but 43 degrees
Got so bad at one point the whitecaps were coming over the boat when a storm moved through about 2. Also snowed on us for a few minutes. High rock 1 - Craig 0. Lol
I'll give you an A for effort ! Ain't no way I was going out, too cold and windy for me. Crazy weather day for sure.
For those going tomorrow, bait was scattered in 16 to 21 fow but when you found it they were balled up tight an on bottom.
Another A for effort. But there goes my generalization, worse the weather, the better the crappie and speckled trout bite is.

A for effort also, but I don’t like the waves coming over the boat! LOL

Beautiful day to be on the lake. However, fished Abbot Creek channel from 10 to 3 and did not scratch. The bait was the thickest I have seen but no bites. Drawing the lake down must have pulled every shad in the creek to the creek channel from hwy 8 bridge to the elbow. At least that is my excuse. Any thoughts?
I ran from swearing creek all the way down to flat swamp and only 2. Something isn't right!

Go North. Just right up river. Lake down bout 3.
Looks like I was not the only one struggling this weekend. lol. Got to get better!
Don’t beat yourself up cwright. The lake is tough most of the time. It’s not that you can’t catch em it’s that you have to find them. I know you like pulling cranks but if you could switch to tight line in Potts Creek I think you will be very successful. They been on fire up there for the pass couple weeks. They have dropped the lake down but those fish up there are “local” and are there year round. Be careful if you or anyone goes up the river but I think you will find them up there.
I've herd alot about potts what is the safest way to get up There

Kinda hard to explain but here is a map I posted a while back. The map is hard to read but from the cow pasture there is a river channel that cuts across. On the map it’s just darker. Once you get across stay on far right past some docks and then straight up toward wood house on point. Look at map and look at other aerials and you should be good. Attachment 393106. SC - shire club. C - cow pasture L - Leonard’s creek and P - Potts creek

Ok so Potts is all the way up behind the train yard.

Yep. You will know you are there when you see the wood house on the point. Facing the wood house North Potts is on the right and South Potts is on the left. Be careful on that point it is shallow and extends out a good ways.
I do appreciate it may give it a try

Never fished up that far, swearing creek is usually where I stop if going up the lake.
