I got the shot. The process was a little more involved than I thought. It hurt, and I ended up killing a few guys.

I am a high school math teacher. We were told we didn’t “have to” get the vaccine, but it was “advisable.” I plan to get the vaccine as soon as they come to my town. My wife works at a pharmacy where they’ll be giving them......around mid January is what they’ve been told.
As far as the other teachers I work with.....about half say they’re gonna get it. My cousin is a pharmacist and he says he would NOT take the Pfizer one. He says Pfizer has been in lots of trouble over the years. So why is this never mentioned? If I, as a teacher, had been in lots of trouble you can bet it would be public knowledge, and should be. Anyway, he says he will take the Moderna vaccine.
I know several people who have been told they were positive and none, absolutely NONE, said it was worse than even the common head cold. NONE! But then you read where “someone has died from COVID related complications again.” I think it sets in and turns into pneumonia in some people and that’s what is so lethal. But, I’m a math teacher and not by any means a doctor.
Happy 2021 to us all.
I am patiently waiting as my wife and I are at risk with co-morbidities.
I'm waiting for my turn in the rotation, but hope to have the vaccine as soon as possible... (at least) by the time the left comes up with a new pandemic... since this one seemed to play so well to cause nationwide fear, chaos, and economic turmoil.
Never let a good crisis go to waste

I and my wife will take the COVID vaccine when our turn comes up. No conspiracy theories will stop us and we will do it not just for ourselves but as part of our social responsibility.
I’m a cardiovascular perfusionist at Huntsville Hospital in Alabama. We have worked in Covid units and watched literally dozens of patients fighting Covid and many have died! This disease is much worse than the common cold! You can’t believe how dedicated these young nurses are! I’ve seen them running between patient rooms, assisting each other with terribly ill patients. I will never make comments again about the “ younger generation “ they are as heroic as anyone I’ve ever met. As a side note, I will never watch professional sports again! Hundreds of thousands of Covid tests given to athletes when many health caregivers couldn’t get them! Just my two cents! PLEASE , be safe and get vaccinated!

after being in medical field recruiting docs and administrators and checking with people I've know for many years their OPINIONS are fairly consistant as they do not trust any information coming from government and Pfizer especially or any of big pharma. Most are NOT getting vaccine as they are wary of rushed testing in small sample sizes and side effects reported by quite a few medical professionals who have taken it. Plus technology used in creating this is new and that bothers them as well. Not all feel this way but it's enough that even tho I am 70 am really healthy and with a recovery rate of 99% it's like with the flu vaccine as it isn't effective which I have never taken tho I have for pneumonia as that has much better results. Are there folks having terrible ordeals or have died? of course there are but flu/pneumonia is still much more of a threat and killing folks, CDC has had to lump those in with the covid as they wern't getting big enough numbers so MSM could push hysteria. JMHO
My sis in law is a CRNP and got the shot earlier in the week. She suggests taking Tylenol before and after receiving the vaccine.
Talk about the shot but leave any politics out of it please.
I’m gonna get my 90 year old mom the shot as soon as I can. Hopefully this coming week. And when it’s available to me I’ll get it too. It’s been a crazy 2020. Life gotta get back to normal. Just sayin’

All I can say is I’ve been at Huntsville Hospital 20 years and don’t recall ICU’ being packed full of Flu/ Pneumonia! And there are 270 people in CV Service line, and over 80% of them have been vaccinated. I guess you can’t please everyone!

After having Covid my take on the vaccine has changed. I don’t want this mess again. I’m 3 1/2 weeks past the day of my first symptoms and I’m still not back to 100%. I was one of the fortunate ones where the congestion was in my head, not my chest. I’ve had stuff that made me feel worse for a day or two than this made me feel on my worst day but I’ve never had anything that made me feel so bad for so long a period of time. I talked to a younger lady the other day about it. She’s maybe 35 and has had it twice. She said the 2nd time was just as bad as the first time. She had it 3 months apart
Mom is 86 & will get the vaccine as soon as it's available. I'm 58, overweight & have asthma, so I will get in line also.
Brenda and I got our shots yesterday. Neither of us had any reaction or soreness. We are to return in 3 weeks for a second shot. Get you shots. It could save your life.
At the health dept here in Huntingdon, Tn. They have a drive thru outbuilding set up in the parking lot and routed traffic around the office complex. Very well organized. Shots were given between 9-4. We went about 2pm..No line..Filled out paperwork, got shot, waited 15 min in parking area for any reaction, which was none. Came home.
The line was long this morning so I was told, but was well organized. 4 people were giving the shots.
Hopefully, you got to go to Dairy Queen after your shot.
It's a requirement for me.

A Buddy was telling me that His Doctor advised Him to get the covid shot. He told the Doctor He wanted a second opinion. The Doctor said, "OK, you are ugly too".
When my buddy told me about it, I said "You know the Doctor was right on both counts". He said, "Yep, I reckon. So I went ahead and got the shot, the other He couldn't do much about".
My dad is 79 years old and has heart issues and I’m a teacher, so we’re both supposed to be in the second wave, but we were both able to get our first shot today. The pharmacy that’s giving them in my town had some cancellations and I had told them that Dad and I could be there within 5 minutes of them calling me if they could do that. Pharmacist said that she had to use them and wasn’t about to just throw them away. She had exactly 2 shots that people didn’t show up for. We got lucky. They called at 5:45 today, just 15 minutes before closing time and we were all done and had our cards and gone by 6:10. I have no regrets. Maybe now some of my paranoia and worry will go away or at least lower a bit.
She said the vaccine was supposed to be affective for at least 90 days. She thinks we’ll all have to get them yearly like flu shots. I thanked her for taking time to call. Dad & I had no side affects.
Forgot to mention that the vaccine we got was the Moderna one. Today, my arm feels sore where I got the shot, but not bad. No other side affects.
90 days??? But you have to have 2 shots within 30 days of each other, so wouldn't it last longer. Interested in how long after 2nd shot.
Thinking a flu shot lasts longer than that. Saw a post on FB, that claimed they last longer than what the pharmacist said, but would believe him before an article in a paper. seeing how they don't always have very accurate info.
