Dang!
I bet I could land that on my crappie rig - hehe.
Thanks Minnowman, I've been crying over that one since yesterday. Maybe I'll start my own guide service - if you want to catch a monster fish you pay me to fish for 3 days before you and not catch anything. That way when you go out they'll be biting.
Who's in? :D
Holy cow. Surely that thing wouldn't be good to eat?
I don't think I would try to eat it, I think it would look better on the wall than in a plate.Quote:

The catch with stripers are you MUST cut the red strip of meat out that runs along the mid-section from the organs to the tail. with a GOOD filet knife you can just make a v-cut about .25" deep and pull the entire strip off, with a REAL GOOD filet knife you can just shave the red meat out as if you were 'widdlin' the bark off a small limb with a pocket knife.Quote:

Minnowman when things calm down for me we got to get together and do a night stalk. Is it still goog at night in july or do they turn off with the summer heat. I didn't make it to crappie camp like I wanted to but this summer I want to fish Beaver at night and troll for stripers during the day.
Barndog
Hey Barndog listen...when the time is right, I'll let you know...we are night stalking for the next 3 days on Beaver...last night didn't have a whole lot of luck due to Crown Royal and Budweiser, but we had a blast nevertheless...MMQuote:

How was your fishing on Beaver during the day or did you mostley night fish
This thread just won't die, will it! :D It's the little devil on my shoulder that keeps saying "go back to Beaver Lake and catch a striper...", so I'm rigging up my boat to do just that! ;)
I caught several during the night stalks...we did two night stalks! During the day I actually caught a BUNCH of channel catfish-- it seemed EVERYWHERE I tried to catch crappie those boogers kept nailing my minnows. I'm guess with the rising water and water clarity going down a little with mud in the water it made those kitties purrrrrr??? Nevertheless, I caught fish that's what matters, right? Might go to floating dock at Prarie Creek tonight with my roommate....the V.P. for Rubbermaid told us if we catch her some fresh crappie meat she'll give us TWO of those Giant brand new Rubbermaid coolers, can't beat that deal ($100 value).....nice! Do the fish still bite then? :D

NICE FISH! I bet that was fun to reel in, huh? Hey Stink....guess what? You look like Marty Stauffer or whatever his name was off Wild America the show on PBS that used to air, hahahaha! MM
Marty must brutally handsome
So big Daddy, how much did it weigh and what did you catch it on? I'm guessing 15 lbs and caught on a topwater bait...
Am I close?
I'm guessing he paid for the fish from the guy in the boat just out of the picture!
Handsome isn't the word, I believe it would be ravishing!
haha
19 and he was caught with a hand sized shad under a balloon
That's just wrong! No, he was not paid for but I can see what would make you think that, lately, I cant catch a cold.
Nice one Stinky! Where do you get the shad from? Do you catch them yourself, or can you buy them somewhere?
throw net in the back of prarie creek
howdy! MM
The guy from the boat next to him called and said now that he has had his picture made with the fish he wants it back.:DQuote:
