Cool idea. Let us know how it works for you.
That will be an awesome bait when wanting a slow fall or a split shot a foot above.
I also fish that way weedlessAttachment 391539
The more I think about it I like this idea, think would work well without any weight.
Folks I'm just saying you can put a hurt on'em with no wind and just lowering this into a snggy mess. No hit just raise back up move over a bit and lower again. They are there and you can surgically remove them with LESS snags.
What bait is that? Looks like some sort of double tail shad body. Could tie a mono weed guard on the first style to make it weedless when you tie on the bait keeper.
It's just a poorly hooked Bobby garland baby shad
Fisher Hawk 186 is exactly right. It was some stuff I had laying around a threw together for a quick pic. I had a Tru Turn #1 and that hook did not cooperate very well trying this. It is Bobby Garland plastic but is old and I don't remember what they called it.
Talk about refresh my memory, we use to go to a game preserve impoundment out in the Louisiana marsh area in the SW of the state, it was all shallow and full of Lilly pads and Hydrilla, I had a bunch of soft plastic Chartreuse much like your baits above that I would fish it weedless style with a swivel in front of it so when I reeled it in through the holes in the pads, it would spin and drive the fish crazy, lol! That spinning tail would attract everything, lol! That was 50 years ago, lol!
