Sometimes i don't get to chase the crappie , this year has been a tough one .Work has been off the charts busy , homeschool is a bear and just when it should slow up some it is hunting season as well so , ......
The Vet went down the same road as me , half lab half blue healer , of course I tossed in some pit and a few other breeds since she "was" a street dog .
We looked for a puppy for over a year , we knew about what we wanted ,but to be sure I don't pay for puppies, so if it wasnt free it wasnt coming to our house . So we looked and looked and looked , came close over and over but in the end no cigar .
Missed some giveaways at the park one day by a few minutes , found one or 27 that looked so so at the millions of shelters in the area , but still never found "that's the one " !
Well last week a lady at work said hey , the neighbor with the yard full of stray dogs about a mile down the road from me has some puppies AGAIN ! They are out in the road everyday at sun up . She said folks are grabbing them when they can, but they are wild and run off when you stop the car .
I said what kind of sort of are they ? She said I dunno but they look like they might not be real large dogs . I said grab a girl pup if you can we will take it . Well no dice , they wouldn't cooperate and he is never home at the house according to her .
He gets called on by the humane society all the time ,but he always says they are not his and just strays he feeds because he feels sorry for them .
About 5 days ago she called and said come get your puppy, the man was home and gave me a girl puppy .....:yikes
I suppose we must be living right , she is about the most perfect little puppy i have ever seen . I would swear she was taken real good care of by her looks and the Vet said WOW just like me . No worms at 12 weeks old and in super great health was her vet visit .
She walks on a leash like she has for done it for years . She loves my daughter and my wife and my old dog as well . Kennel trained like a champ in 1 day and goes potty ONLY outside ! Very well mannered and well behaved for her age and comes when called by name already :highfive
We named her Onyx and she is without a doubt a Merry Christmas at our home .
Hopefully EVERYONE here is as blessed as we are this Christmas . We needed a ray of sunshine on this most dreadful year .
The look on my daughters face and the glee that ensued when they met the first time was priceless .
