I installed AMPED batteries for my troll motor. I cant find a charger that has yet to impress me except for their high pricing.
I like that setup Chaunc.
Very skeptical of the higher voltage = better picture theory. Prove it.
It is a cozy and neat form factor, I'll give you that, but 9 AH is 9 AH and I doubt you get a full day (8-10 hours) out of one of those, much less a weekend like I have with a 50 AH. When you factor in the cost of 2-3 of those batteries, I am doubtful of any money saving.
Disclaimer: I am an EE and have been studying the PLS system since I got it, including measuring many parameters. Claims need to be verified with data - I've never seen any. I'm sure the guy is an ace fisherman, but he ain't no authority and is just parroting what he's been told, IMO. I don't make YT videos, I just help my friends out. I leave the money-making to Garmin.
The lithium set ups have my attention til I get to the bottom line. 3 batteries and a charger on my budget just ain’t happenin, don’t care how good it is. When they become more commonplace and the prices come down some, I’ll revisit the idea. Like the weight savings and longevity of the batteries, if that holds true.
The setup he showed looks like a good option for the live scope idea.
I do believe in 5-10 years we will all be running lithium.
By the. Price will be way down, I hope.

I bought lithiums cause I can't lift the lead acids. I don't wanna depend on folks coming over to lift batteries. I find myself more dependable than my brothers. Period. I am talking troll motor batteries. Electronics, I use 24ah sla batt. This stuff outlasts me per day which is more like a 1/2 day or close to 4 hours outing.
I enjoy reading of these newer developments. I am happy for those that can enjoy.
I can't even think why? But to those that can please do and tell us about it.
Alan
I’m using a 2 bank Pro Marinier 20 amp charger set to charge AGM batteries and it charges my lithiums to 100%. Its a standard wet cell charger. I also have a 10 amp lithium NOCO 1 bank charger.
I use two milwaukee 18v batteries for livescope and a 1222 chartplotter and very pleased with the setup. I use a 12ah on the black box and the other battery is a 8ah. This past Thursday after fishing seven and half hours I still had 17.1 volts left. New to LS so I am not sure weather the pictures are better with the higher voltage or not.
