You guys did good.
Had a great time. Thanks for taking me timbo. Here’s a couple great pics. Shows you my cheater selfie technique that shows a “big” fish. Hey now, that’s actually not a bad fish, it’s just that I got big hands! If I include my big mitt in the pic the fish would be dwarfed.

You like the coronavirus "lack of" haircut! lol
I couldn’t take the stories of a few average fish. We always have fun and I enjoy his company, so I hollered at the Boss and had him make the trip. all smooth at launch and true to form things started slow, but around 8:30 things got busy. Fish came to the boat and right into the box.Slab had stuff to do and had to bolt by 10:30 so we didn’t get long to see how many we could put in the cooler. We made it to 14 and I headed into the ramp to send him on his way. Colors were all over the board but the Gsauce had em rockin!! We got a couple of real nice ones and released a bunch, as many or more than we kept. I reminded him of an order of zip up hoodies that I had made and he brought those along and beat the shipping. Now my queen, BlueGillGirl and I will be the best dressed wherever we go when we put em on. If you haven’t seen them, you need to check em out. Also goes good with the black one I got a few years back.

So after dropping my guest, I headed back out to see about completing a 25 fish limit. Mom was doing yard sales so why not. Started closer to the ramp and had just put #15 in the cooler and looked up to see Slimjim looking back at me. This must have been crappie.com day cuz I also saw bearlake slab daddy, speck detector, and I heard of a couple of others that were there. Also saw a few of the friends I’ve made fishing there in the past, old home day, always waving hello to someone I knew. My cousin called so I put her on speaker as I eased around til I put #25 in the box and released #26. It was his lucky day. All in all I had a stellar day and that was the first 25 limit I’ve taken in a very long time. Half went to Chuker and the other half went to a guy I work with. I had been after the fish for another guy I work with who’s been after me for a while for some, family around the holidays thing. I told him that if he didn’t answer his phone I would call the guy who got the fish. Guess who didn’t answer his phone.
Today was one of the best fishing days I’ve enjoyed for a long time. Between the fish, my guest and all the friends I got to see today, I’ve had more than my share of blessings today, and I’m thankful for every one. Hope y’all have a day like this soon, and I hope to be there when you do. Til then, please protect and take care of yourself. Tight lines......Skeet
so you were on bearlake or griffin? Great to see ed out and on fish but dang guys you can get a haircut anytime you want. especially in FL!
A great trip, nice Crappie, congrats!
Sorry to miss ya Slab...seen most everyone launching, talked w/ Slim Jim, Bearlake "Slab-Daddy", & Skeet...Was suppose to fish Crescent, then earlier in the week found out Vic "Anchorman" had to return home, his story to tell & still was going to fish w/Spiderman from Georgia, but he advised me of the tournament going on up there, soooo ended up @ Monroe. Caught over 30 stripers:yikes, think they're invading the lake...lowered the water level pretty good w/specks as well, however, the bite has slowed since previous visits, for me at least w/many throwbacks, but no complaints, it's been red-hot, just took the whole day to duplicate results, but w/plenty of good company.... was slick calm water most of the morning w/pleasant over-cast skies. Bottom line blessed to fish w/old friend & catch up...a few pics...stripers, Doug aka spiderman w/couple good'uns...mister nasty mud fish..ect...P.S. don't know if anyone got a boat count out there, bet it was over 50...can't load recent pics from computer, will try phone...

Nice day of surprises Tim, thanks for sharing. One exception however, was the mention of Ed having "things on his to do list" shortening the box fill time. IMHO, this detour from truth highway, was concocted from his diligent ability to forecast further back problems from "hoisting Hogs" over the gunnels of your Captained vessel!!:Rofl:ThumbsUp

That livewell shot brings thoughts of a possible Stained glass window, Jeff!:biggrin

Looks like some great times were had by a couple of deserving fishermen. Slab, Tim will make you have fun on every trip.
And drdore would know. I came close to wearing him out a few times. He might have been on the fence when I called him but he always wound up going, and did we have some good times. Fish count was close to the same Though. Good memories Sam.
Jeff, I see your striped spinner still doing the deal, good stuff there. You finished out the day in fine style.
Nice photos and catches. Thanks.
Tim, actually only caught throwbacks after seeing you, so any you left are still there....Yep that bait has been good for the bigger fish, had been doing good w/pearl berkeley grub like a Mr. Twister, but can't find them anymore...got a tip @ the Slabfest & those Bobby Garland strollers may have become "this yrs" bait for me to pair w/bettlespins so far....noticed in 1 of your pics the slablious blue tuxedo paddle tail=another bait that does well @ Monroe....

Seems to be dark bodies and bright chartreuse tails are doing the lion’s share. June bug, firefly, purple, and sometimes pumpkin with bright tails during overcast or partly cloudy conditions. Tried a white roadrunner heads and a white body with a red tail........zip. I believe depth is the key nowadays so pay attention to what’s busy and what isn’t.
Wow that boat is rigged to catch some serious crappie. Thanks for sharing your fishing adventure.
Awesome pics
