Anybody fishing tomorrow

I am. WRAL is now saying that the wind will be out of the west Southwest @ 1mph. I am guessing that is code for gusts to 30mph out of the Northeast. :Rofl
I plan to go to Jordan but I will let it warm up just a little. Probably be there about 10. I Hope I can find some minnows.
I plan to hit Harris tomorrow afternoon at around 12:30 - 1:30 (after it warms up a bit) from Cross Point Boat Ramp. I have all my rods rigged with jigs in an array of different colors and plan to try tipping with minnows/crappie nibs and/or dipping with Slab Sauce until I find some combination that works for the crappie and/or the white perch. I wish everyone lots of luck and I'm lookin' forward to hearing some good reports from everyone who tries it tomorrow.
Good luck Wayne
Good luck you all!

How was fishing today ? wind wasn't bad here on land :fish
Did you'll have a frost? Big dip may have stopped the bite. Or you didn't go! :Rofl
Sorry Mac, I figured they were moving in for the winter up there.

It was very slow. We fished all day and had about 10. Cheif showed up. He caught his limit plus. So it goes to show ya it was a good day for 1 pole jigging but a bad day for spider rigging.
You wright bout that but I think chief could catch fish in the middle of the road. He’s hard to beat

I didn't do anything worth mentioning at Shearon Harris yesterday either. I believe the combination of full moon phase, bluebird skies, high barometric pressure, and the first day of a warming trend had 'em in lock-jaw mode. I put in at around 1:00 and fished until about 4:15 after trying everything I knew to make 'em bite. My final count as I recall was (4) bass; (3) white perch; (3) crappie; and (1) blue catfish (all yearling-class fish) that were all released. I still enjoyed getting out on the water on a very pleasant weather day overall. I certainly didn't have too many fish worrying me, that's for sure.
I was ready to go and it was cold. I thought about the hour and half drive and elected to go to a lake closer home just 5min away. the lake is a tanic lake and has a lot of hydrila that makes fishing a challenge. The wind blew harder than forecast but not too bad. Water temp was 53 degree. I never could mark any number of fish. Only a single now and then that I found out was bass. They took minnows well. Lots of fun on ultra lite. late afternoon I decided to call it a day. Did up my rods and stowed all equipment and made my deposit oh unused minnows to the food supply. Headed back to the dock on a slow ride enjoying the lake when the sonar lit up and the fish were stacked up in about a 2 acre area over low brush in 8 feet of water. Never seen that many arches on my screen at one time. I have a date with them Monday. Attachment 390078
I fished Wednesday on falls lake. It was cold and windy. Caught around 20 crappie and about twice as many white perch.
thanks Nater. I have wanted to fish Falls but never have. What are the size of crappie there?
A lot of small fish and white perch to play with, but we do get some bigger fish in the winter. I don’t fish it as much as I used too, stripers at Kerr lake get most of my attention now, but I have some cold season patterns figured out. If the bigger fish are in the pattern and location you can get a mess of good ones. 2#ers are rare but we usually get a few a year, last winter my son got a 2.5#, but average ‘good’ fish is 1.5# or so.
Nater, what part of falls do you fish in winter? thanks
I live about 10mins from Ledgerock so I mostly launch there. In winter I stay west of hwy 50 and fish deep water on calm days. 30-20’ of water tightline the edges of the river channel. Old car hole was very good in the past, but not as good the last few years. I go as often as possible and just spend time over the channels until I find them. Then next time I go I start where I left off and hope to find them again.
