I used to hunt them cypress swamps over in southern Arkansas on the Ouachita river close to Mississippi . It is like hand to hand combat no doubt about it .
That is one big old buck and I am sure he wasn't fun to drag out of there . The hunting stories from over there are just about to ridiculous to believe I tell ya .

Congratulations on a beautiful buck! I used to hunt Cypress Swamps around Whiteville, NC. Water up to my chest wading to a climber but it made for nice floating a buck out. Killed quite a few in those swamps, ahhh the memories.

Nice Buck! I use to love hunting off of the marshes when I lived in Delaware, some of the biggest deer came out of them.
do yawl run dogs on em ? we used to run a pack a beagles and a pack of walkers in them swamps .
they ran dogs after the first 3 days there , the deer knew we were there after a few KABOOMS and wouldnt budge
we sat in stands the first 3 days .
the running of the hounds was just about some serious fun ...
to hear them dogs coming your way ....
knowing if its beagles the deer will be sneaking along
and if its walkers is gunna be a greyhound race ...
heart pumping stuff for sure ...
seen walkers chase a doe into the Ouachita and she never looked back and swam like a flying fish across the river.
the dogs stopped at the bank and said .....hmmmm...never mind that one :Rofl

Heck of a buck, congrats. I really want to start hunting whitetail before I run out of time.
Long ways across the lower Ouachita at some points. Almost a mile but I have seen more than one deer swim it. I swam it myself once, but I was a lot younger then.
