Would like help with purchasing or building a simple step, to attach to trailer to get in and out of boat from the side. small Tracker Pro-170, and it is wider then the trailer frame. Could fabricator make a step, that would attach? and estimates on cost? Is pre-manufactured available anywhere? Tongue swings, so front ladder seems limited.

A front ladder makes more sense than a side. When backing the boat in, the side ladder will be in the water. Just buy a right or left handed ladder that is
opposite of the tongue swing. A fabricator can make anything but one off the shelve will be lighter.
I bought one from Tracker Marine In Springfield Mo. put it on my 175 TXW, remove 4bolts on the Winch, bolts under winch plate, has one step and has tall pole to hang on toQuote:

Those are some fine lookin' and vary functional lookin' steps guy. I've been eye-ballin' various step designs for my boat... and more seriously as "geezerdome" continues to bare down on me.

I took a boat to the fabricator. Told him what I wanted to do and he asked me some questions. Custom designed steps that were built to suit me. I wanted front mounted to the winch stand and frame of trailer for sturdiness. I wanted to have them placed in a manner that would allow me leave the boat down 3 steps with a handhold plus be able to hook boat up with out getting wet. The last step was almost level with the trailer allowing me a platform to stand on and have ample room to hook up.
This was on a previous boat and can't remember the price but it was considerable less than the steps I saw on line.

I put a set on my trailer, built them out of wood just to get it placed correct and the right height. That allowed me to go and buy just the right amount of metal needed. Have friend with weilder and metal fab saw and we put them together. Put metal tubing for hand rail with a bend that i can get my hands on when i stand up. I am 74 with 2 back surgerys the steps allows me to keep fishing. Have no more then $60. in them.
Fine looking steps everyone has. I am considering some as well, thanks for sharing your pictures.
At 73 and bad back & knees, I have to have one.

I bought the powder coated black Easy Step and it is awesome. Got the parts in 2 days, easy installation and works like a charm. I am sure I could have had them fabricated for less money but these are exceptional sturdy and they use a thick square tubing. One phone call and had the 3 step model in 2 days, and an hour later no more wobbly and difficult entry. Should have done this years ago. Easy step.comQuote:

So I was looking for some steps for the boat trailer to make it easier launching and loading. Could not find anything I trusted that would fit properly or spending a arm and a leg for it. So I came up with this. So far it works pretty well.
I made mine with $44 worth of 2x2” square tube 1/8” wall. Slips over the tongue and is able to slide wherever needed. Been very handy. Just an idea I did not add a rail as I just hold the troller or seat post if need be. Hopefully the picture worked not to good with that stuff
