Gonna try these tomorrow. I’m catching fish but thought I would give them something different. About a 10 minute soak. Only dyed 3-4 doz. I’ll take 1/2 lb or so in case it’s a bust with the dyed ones. Attachment 388177

Do they survive the dying process? What type of dye is used? I never knew this existed, I've seen it on worms in the bait shop, but never minnows.
Maybe my first question should be "Do they survive the process of being dyed green?"
I'm pretty sure you wasted 11$. But hey I hope you wear em out. Let us know. I guarantee you I've tried crazier stuff.

They appear to be fine as far as surviving the dyeing process.
I followed the directions and after the process put them back in my tank with the un-dyed minnows.
As I said, I followed the directions to the T.
I will be curious if they are still dyed at 4 am in the morning when I dip them out and transfer to my Engel cooler to go to the lake. If not, I will dye some more. Only had a 10-15 minute soak so it shouldn’t be a problem if by chance it washes off. Also are they going to make a difference? I push double minnow rigs and intend to mix it up on each pole.
I’m very curious if it triggers more bites with the dyed minnows.
Not pushing anybody’s products ie, Engle or product called Firedye that was used for the dyeing process.
I’ll report after tomorrow’s fishing.

i have a bottle of some red bait dye somewhere , it wont work on plastics .
never tried it on feathers and as you might have imagined ....
aint used a minnow in so many years i for got what they look like .
i will say the good news is the stuff only cost me 2 bucks of the clearance rack .
i know some folks dip minnows in stuff and some swear by it .
i would likely dip the chart minnow in before the regular one .
mostly because the jaundice might ketch up with it before i got to use it for bait .....

Me to, saw a youtube video on it, but never tried it.
Update on the dyed minnows.
Only had 3 today but did catch the first one on the green minnow.
Never got a bite after 8:40 and fished until 11:30. Just came home and worked in yard. lol
Not a very good report.
I can’t fish again until Friday because of contractor coming in the morning and Uber Papaw duties tomorrow and Thursday.
Maybe Friday will be better. [emoji4][emoji4]

I have used the red and the green dye. Some days it does help trigger more bites. Some days the fish are just not going to bite anything.
I use it from time to time it has helped some days and hurt others! It seems to do great in muddy stained water

the red die turns them pink from what i hear and in some lakes east of here rosey reds are the bait of choice .Quote:
