Wow! That is huge! I have caught nothing close to that big... usually about half that and I feel like they are great to be catching!

Caught October last year on chartreuse white jig I tied. Caught on the BnM Rod I had just won from the contest here on cdc. Unfortunately didn’t have a scale but I’m guessing around 3 pounds.
I haven't broke the 15 inch mark.. Couldn't tell you the weight.
I don't weigh them, I go by length. I know I've got a 14 and I think I've caught a 15". No clue as to weights.
I have quite a few 3 pounders but I haven’t weighed fish in years. All I do now is get a measurement on them.
Regards

I'm sitting in the high 14s too. Never weighed them.
My biggest I caught ice fishing...17.25". The one in my avatar was 15".

The rest of the crappie I caught didn't come close. A crappie I caught 2 weeks ago was over 15".
Thought both were bass by the fight. Good thing I had the net.
Not bad for the northeast.
Several years ago on Lake Barkley, I was dipping minnows into buckbrush under a slip bobber on a fly rod. I hooked the biggest crappie I had ever seen in the middle of a bush and had to break limbs off to get the fish to the net. I got it in the boat, admired it, then dropped it in the livewell of my Skeeter bass boat. I was alone and didn’t have a camera with me. This was at least a decade before cell phones.
No more than 10 minutes later and no more than 20 feet down the line of flooded brush, I hooked another huge white crappie. I dragged it out of the brush and into the net. Again, I admired it then dropped it in the livewell.
I fished a while longer and ended up with 8 keepers. I put the Skeeter on the trailer and headed toward home since I had to work the afternoon shift. I stopped by a small Mom and Pop store that made deli sandwiches. As the man was making my sandwich, he asked if I had done any good? I told him I had 2 of the biggest crappie I had ever seen. He said bring them in and he’d weigh them on his state certified scale. When he weighed them, they came to 3 lb 4oz and 3 lbs even.
Being that this was years before I started doing taxidermy and we were living on my income alone while Vicki was in college, I never gave having them mounted a second thought. They were filleted and enjoyed. Maybe some day I’ll decide to do them in reproductions.

3lb.10 oz. (3.63 ) Caught in Turkey creek . Spring break of 1995 . 18.25 inches Attachment 387022 was told it was a hybrid .
The largest crappie I have ever caught was 15.5 inches. I have no idea what he weighted but I guess a little over 2lbs. I have only seen one crappie over over 3lbs in my life. My dad and friend caught him a trotline back in the early 70's. We had a old wooden boat that leaked like sieve. They checked the lines while my job was to bail water with a old Folgers coffee can. I was 9 years old and we ate that fish the same night we caught him. No one was interested in records back then.
My biggest was 2 lb 4 oz. Since then have caught several over 2 lb but not bigger than that. Still looking for one over 3.
I just got a fish scale last year. I only weighed a handful since and the biggest was like 1 lb 10 oz. Judging by that, I MAY have caught a 2 pounder somewhere down the line but nothing even close to 3 lbs.
We nabbed a bunch of 14's this spring and 2 or 3 that were right around the 15 mark. I know I put at least one of the 15's in my boat but the others probably went in Jigfisherx's boat. Never weighed any. I doubt they were very heavy.
This has been THE best fishing season of my life, but I think Jeff would call it average.
When I was 11 we nabbed a record catfish on a trotline. 3ft 5in roughly 41lbs... we cleaned it in the middle of the night cause we didn't have anyplace to keep it. Wasn't till the next morning it occurred to us what we had done. The state sent a Master Angler award, but we couldn't hold the record since we only had a picture. Its ok, the story is way better anyway.
my avatar crappie would be what i think is the biggest white crappie possibly ,the girth was 19 inches as I remember and the length just shy of 18 a hair . I let her go and did not weight her . Guesstimates ranged from 3.8 to 4.4 and i had a replica done with a 4.4 body and my wife will tell you flat out its smaller than the fish i released . She was my only witness and took the photo . I have maybe 5 or 6 other fish that resembled that one in size to date from the north Texas area over my lifetime .
She was ketched about 2013 , about 2018 i landed one over 18 a hair but it didnt come close to that kind of girth . i mostly let fish go and both of those swam on . and since i am one the bank most of the time i aint packing a scale , i travel quite light,,,,,,
just a photo or 27 and a fish story is all i got to tell :Rofl
Ive only been crappie fishing for 3 years...with my own boat and learning myself with videos. in August a friend and I have a birthday within 7 days, so we decided to celebrate with friends at Jackson Hill marina on Sam Rayburn. The week before i had finished the install of an i pilot trolling motor. I had a tiller style before that one. He was a cat jugger and I was a "crappie fisher". Headed out on a saturday morning hot and humid as texas can be, dropped a jig down because the store up front didnt have any minnows. felt brush, then felt a bite!! drug it up and thought it was a bit heavy...maybe a small bass.
Nope...a 15" crappie. not sure of the weight. It looked a little narrow.
Still dont have a 2lb crappie on my records. Many 12-14. The first 2 lb will go on my wall.
3.3# for me. Almost 18". 3 years ago.
Years ago I caught a 16.5 and a 17 inch back to back not sure of the weight.
Some nice slabs....I don't have any big ones yet here in nj...j missed a big one on topwater this year tho prob around 1 1/2 lber
1 pound 11 ounces. I lost a much bigger one at the boat a few weeks ago. I'm sure I'll catch a bruiser eventually, as I've only just started seriously targeting crappies since March of this year.
2.60 for me!!
Several over 2 lbs.
I’m just an amateur.

I don't typically measure unless they look close to min limit on slow days.

I was just talking to a friend about this....in the area I live right now I have to choose from driving 2 hours round trip for a chance to catch big ones.....or drive 20 minutes round trip and catch average ones. I almost always choose the short drive and more fishing. So given that the one's I catch are big for the lakes I'm on, but not overall big. 13" is the max long.....about a 1 1/4 high for weight, but that was a different fish that was actually shorter.
Some day I'll get to the big leagues.....
I am blessed with a great big crappie water 1/4 mile away, still giant crappie are hard to come by. I am nearing 1000 fish for the year, and of those only 9 were over 16". Yes 16" is a giant black crappie, but usually just shy of 3#. 1000 fish has been my goal for the last three years, and I have 56 left to catch this year. Almost all my fish are released. All that to show how rare the true giants are. Biggest this year is 2.94#Attachment 387056

That's some nice fish, I ate mine too.
Biggest this year pushing 16”, officials weight one was 2.14lb. Most of my catches are released especially the big one of 14 and over.

3.84# caught in 2002 at Neeley Henry in a Crappie USA regional tournament.
18.4 inches. Some locals said it was a Cossa river hybrid (not sure what that means) I've caught a few other just over 3# nothing close to this.Attachment 387615

Had a whole week of slabs Like these on Easter weekend 2017 with my buddy Scottie fishing the Dead Sea ...best fishing ever for me!
That is a huge crappie congrats.
14-1/4" white crappie, never weighed any of them. Was a larger black crappie but didn't have a tape measure with me so he doesn't count.
December 12, 2011. Normandy lake, middle Tennessee. A Tuesday morning and I had to work in the afternoon. 22’ of water dropping a 1/8th sickle hook jig and a BGBS in blue thunder. Most of you might not admire this but it was the best trip I’ve ever had, I threw nothing back until they had been weighed together. I had no plans on keeping any because of work and they all released but 3 that went to the Chinese restaurant I ate at because they wouldn’t revive. I caught ten fish, all big, heavy fish. The three biggest were2.2, 2.4, and 2.6lbs, and that was in tenths which make the big one 2lbs 9 1/2oz. The ten fish weighed a sneeze shy of 18lbs. By far my biggest day along with my largest fish. Never gotten close to that before or since, and I’ve been tryin! I leave you with the hope that you have a day like this if you haven’t already. Oh yeah, put in at 7 and pulled at 10, headed home to work.
My personal best was 3lb 8 oz that came out of Grenada when I was a teenager. Back then we fished for food and didn't have the money for a taxidermist any way. It was weighed on a meat scale at a small store. The picture attached is one of a 3.11 out of Grenada that was returned to the water. I won't have one mounted unless I break that 3 lb 8 oz mark.

i always wanted a black crappie over 3 lbs and to date i have not got near that size .
2 lbs 6 oz is the best i have to date and i lost the fish right before it that made it look like a 10 inch fish :yikes
the big fish missed the net by just a few feet .....we thought it was big sandbass or hybrid striper when i hooked it .
that fish still haunts me by the way ..... i got to look at it long enough on the surface to burn a permanent mark on my brain :Rofl
