Well I've been down there 3 times in the last couple of weeks and the big bite in the upper end hasn't started yet, but I may run back down there with a friend and try again. The water hasn't cooled down enough yet ,it was still about 69 to 71 in places and the Pro I know tells me 66 is the magic number.Hope you did well Mac
Reports on Jordan today please?

I appreciate it brother. I thought many times that I don't know what's happened to the NC Board. It used to be that there was something goin' on all the time with lots of people participating, sharing, pickin', and jokin' around.
It would be great if we could somehow resuscitate this Board and bring it back to life again. I'd be up for that for sure.
As you can see from my profile, I'm not one of the top posters, but that's only because I don't get to crappie fish as much as I'd like. When I do get out, I'm happy to share as much info as I can--I don't need to keep secrets fearing that others will then swoop in and I'll never be able to find another crappie after that. I'll keep posting whenever I have the chance, more as the winter months hit and I put my bass gear away for a while.
I like the forum and post almost every time I Fish reguardless of where it is. One thing and I am not complaining in any way, I live a little too far east to to drive to the western peadmont lakes. I don't get to fish very often so I like to be on the water not the hwy. We had some people posting from farther east than I am but I have not seen them on here lately. I seldom here about the crappie in Falls or Buckhorn(kenly). I would love to fish Falls but I don't like the Raleigh Traffic. I look at this site every day so I'm with you Wayne.
We dove the 2 hours up there last Thursday to fish. Couldn't really ask for better weather. we fished around Farrington and caught a lot of short fish. We did keep 15 fish with the biggest being about 1.75. we didn't really catch the better fish until we got out away from the channel near the bridge. Bigger fish for us were in about 12-14' of water. Those big females have roe beginning to develop.
I'm heading up tomorrow 10/28/20. Will be fishing around Farrington. I'll report on how we do.

Took the yak out on Jordan @ Farrington this morning. Watched a beautiful sunrise and slow trolled chartreuse 1/16 oz jigs around the bridge, the little island, and around the channel on either side of the bridge. Spent about an hour came up empty, and needed to get to work. Flying blind because I haven't figured out what kind of fish finder to get for the yak. Suggestions welcome.

Fished in the Farrington area today. Water temps stayed steady at 67.8°. Fished about 5 hours. The bite was slow but consistent. Caught 58 crappie between 3 of us. We kept 20. We got most of our bites in 20-24 fow, fishing between 12 and 18 feet deep.

Been fishing Jordan several times the last few days and it’s been hit or miss for me. Friday I did ok trolling jigs and minnows, with about 8 total over 3 hours, then had a hard time with the fish Saturday and Monday. Finally kept tinkering and found something that worked pretty well today. I caught 5 in about 1.5 hours on 350 series Arkie crappie cranks, fishing them 13-16 feet deep in about 30 FOW. I had different colors on four poles, but they definitely prefer the Sexee Shad color over everything else. That would be my favorite color crankbait for crappie on Jordan. Tight lines!
