You can network your helix units and share waypoints as well as viewing SI, DI,2d, temp, gps, depth. But you cannot share map and chart cards. The only electronic units from HB that networks map cards is Solix models.
Okay thanks
Also so im square....the ipilot link only works with lakemaster cards...not navionics
Am I correct?
Not sure,,someone else needs to answer. I don’t have link...will have to research.
Changed reply to,,I am finding out,,don’t think you can use Navionics card with link in running contours or going to waypoints.
I appreciate it.....just wanna make sure before i sell my navionics cards
Just make sure the lakes your fishing are in Lakemaster card and here in Indiana,,most of the lakes I fish,,Navionics has more detail than Lakemaster as I use both. Some of my lakes are not on Lakemaster also.
Follow the contour will only work with Lakemaster or Autochart / Autochart live. You may find that Navionics may be better mapping on one lake and Lakemaster better on another.
Also be aware that if you are going to connect 2 units + an Ipilot Link trolling motor you will need the 5 port switch.
I didnt know you could use both? So I could theoretically get a lakemaster for use on bow unit but keep the navionics for the console?
Would I still be able to share waypoints between units as long as ethernet connects them?
For sure you could do that .... also, the waypoints are not saved on the map card. They are saved to the unit's memory and the waypoint is then overlay-ed on the map image.
You can share the waypoints between units via Ethernet regardless of what map card is used.
Many thanks BobB......your a wealth of information. I appreciate it
