Just FYI, the Stripers are heating up on Murray. Buddy has his limit in 3 hours Tuesday. Some a lot faster than him.

I took the younguns out Tuesday and we did pretty good. We quit at 10:30 because they had dental appointments. We ended up with 11 striper and 3 big perch. The wind was tough blowing straight down the lake at 15 to 20 mph. I can say I was one happy camper with my 112 trolling motor. It was holding us on spotlock and I couldn't tell if the boat moved. Best thing I put on the pontoon. Ray I am ready for that perch trip when you are.
The way my luck's been going you doing better than me. I'm supposed to go Friday with Tom. Hopefully he can get me going again.
Good report and nice seeing you two guys getting out some now. Go get um!;):)
I hopefully get my boat back this weekend and plan on going next Friday.
I wish I wouldn't have cheaped out and bought the 112 instead of the 80 does ok but if the wind come up forget it. I just didn't want to buy 3 new batteries plus the unit with year old batteries on the boat. Live and learn.Quote:

Don you need a better guide. Tom and I took my boat out this morning and we didn't get a single bite
1st time my boat has been in water since January.
We don"t use live bait so that probably didn't help.
Weather was good we just could not get a bite
Saw fish but guess they wanted fresh meat.

Me and Tyler tried them again this morning. We caught our limit but only brought home 8 as I had 2 really small ones that I released. We had 2 break off and I lost one rod. We were fishing behind goat island in 30_ft of water using down rods and herring about 3 cranks off the bottom. I have been going to JC's and getting herring and putting in at schull island. Only a short run to where we have been fishing.
Don it's the first 5 you catch right now isn't it? I'm on vacation week after next so i need try to see if can't catch a few. Has anybody ever grilled them on the halfshell like they do red fish? Thanks

Mark it is 5 and done till september. On some of the small ones if they are lip hooked I will release them. Jc's has a nice grill in the new store really nice setup. Call me when you are on vacation and we will plan a trip or two. You know you are always welcomed on my boat. I don't grill fish but I have heard they are delicious.
