Nice place Jimmy has, looks like fishing paradise to me. Not a huge fan of Houston, never was. Hank Parker was the guru I relied on in the 80's and 90's growing up. Anyways, this is irrelevant surprised to see the machine with such company by MS math or AL for that matter :Rofl

SuperDave, I competed in BASS Toureys at the top from 79 to 82 and had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of those guys. They always treated me right. Roland (Ah Son) let me stay at his house in Clewiston for a week between tourneys. Jimmy and Chris Houston put me up once too. Ah those were the days for me. You brought me to some very good memories. And no, I did not amount to much as a PRO. Rick Clunn told me I was kidding myself if I thought I could compete a the top and work a day job. Just pick one and go, so I came home. Thanks for the memory jog.

Don't forget Wally Marshall, and Al Linder! AL was was of the first pros who loved my jigs. I have been blessed to meet and to talk with Wally, Al and Jimmy. Of the three Jimmy was the most fun to talk with. I really enjoyed both of these videos. Thank you for posting them my friend. Slab is correct when he stated that they have all helped the fishing industry. Every one of them, in their own way, is a teacher who willingly shares their knowledge about catching panfish.Quote:

I have watched this about five times. Each time I watch it I learn something new. I have a friend I go fishing with sometimes by the name of Clarence. He has a ton of hair under his nose too. I wonder if he is who Richard keeps talking about. Jimmy can't help talking so much. Put the two of them together and you have an awesome fishing show and if you are not careful you will learn something too. I will probably watch this episode about twenty more times. It is that good folks......and its good fer ya!

finally watched it today very good video as usual if Richard or Jimmy is involved.
I enjoyed the video. Looks like they really had fun together. Reading about some of the old fishing celebrities in this thread brought back some good memories of watching them. Being of "a certain age", I also use to enjoy watching The American Sportsman in the 60's & 70's, The Fishin' Hole with Jerry McKinnis and Billy Westmoreland's show back in the '70's, as well as Orlando Wilson's show in the mid 80's, great shows. Those were some good days for sure, if only we could turn back the clock!
I forgot to mention (which I imagine a few here may also be able to relate to), if you had JUST the right amount of Tin Foil on the Rabbit Ear Antenna, and, it was also positioned JUST RIGHT on the old 3 channel Black & White TV, then you would only see a few shadow images of the person fishing. But most times there were so many shadow images that it looked like an entire football team in the boat fishing, instead of one man.Quote:
