Safer is at home but 4 months away from the Grand-babies is difficult. Daughter and son in law have been working from home and being very meticulous with the girls in VA, as have we in our endeavors in TN, but a road trip by us this weekend was much needed by all.

Pools and swings at parks may have lots of crowds now, but their backyard has both, with a pooch and a lake full of Panfish that stay hungry.... minus the people. Pepaw and Grandma’s ideal vacation resort.

A small Cracker, a Gill, and a Crappie all were feared, then touched, then applauded when they swam to their freedom. What fun was that for all, especially me.

More smalls, but most fun for sure. The weapon of choice was the Majorcraft Finetail in 6.3UL. This rod was made for this lake, and XUL would be even better, but the rod used today was on sale at a good price and fits right in to my arsenal on larger TN public waters.

Up close with yet another Speck from Saturday evening, the 3.9lb braid on the Ballistic FW in the 1000 size fits well, and the mealworm Trout Magnet tipped with Chartreuse Waxie was the preferred bait by all.

Fishing, swimming, sliding, what a full day. Stay safe, fish when you can and as I said in the title, this weekend we was just chillin with the gals.
