Wow those look good. I like making and using those types. Love that chenille for you used.
Really good looking flies and should fill your box with gills!

Is there a type of float you like to use for the bluegills. Do you twitch the float a lot or just let it sit?
Would love to know how you tie the rubber legs on, tried it but mine are always crooked.

Great tie! The Bluegills will soon be slurping them up.

Good looking lures, they will work well.
I use a darter jig with rubber legs and they work well.
I twitch it and let it set. Sometimes a slow steady retrieve. Attachment 376484

Thank you for the response!! I tied some up today!!
Tie the body on and whip finish at the head. After this I go to the middle of the body and start new thread wrap and add the silicone legs on each side. Use only three or so wraps to attach legs and again whip finish. Trim silicone legs to lenght being careful to leave them long enough too have good action. Hope this is helpful. Slurpees would be an appropriate name for those = bluegill blitz for sure!

What is leg material and where do I get it?thanks
Silicone strips from a outfit called Skirts Unlimited. Some is a very fine grade called froghair. I've had a supply for probably 15 years from when I tied a lot of bass jigs and spinnerbaits. The froghair might not be available any more. Barlow's used to have some pretty small stuff.

This looks like a description of what I called frog hair from them. They may have renamed it. Super action on small jigs and flies. Attachment 378273

I wish they had more colors in that Finesse series. I have a lot of the other size in great colors, will get some of these as well, didn't know about this half size skirt material so thanks for that tip!

I am running short of Chartreuse leg material. The material I have been using has 60 strands per inch. The last batch came from Lure parts online but they don't carry chartreuse any more.
I see the frog hair is bigger in diameter. :-(
Try living rubber website. They have lots to choose from. I think the "fine" is what you need.
Living Rubber Co. - chartreuse
Can see the difference and still wish they had more colors in that like they do in other kinds they have. Love Chartreuse and Blue, stuff like that, lol! Seems the frog hair ones they mostly use subdued colors, know a couple are bright, but even some just White would be nice. I really like the fly Bream Killer (see pic below) and I just use longer legs and seem to do the trick pretty well.

Pattern calls for White legs, but I put all kind of colors on them. Some with tail and wing and some no tail and just a wing.

Those are very nice spiders and am zdx sure that the legs will have lots of movement.

Those bream killer flies are legendary here too Skip!!
Maybe the easiest bait to fly fish with, just lay it out and let it sink very slow and as long as you can see it, if it jerks, you jerk back, lol! Oh and once you can't see it any longer, just watch the knot at the fly line and again if it jerks, you jerk back!
