700!

Went out yesterday again in a storm of boaters who may or may not be safe and responsible. Water was churned into a froth, weird waves coming from all directions. I am still intent on catching and releasing 1000 crappie this year. Launched at 6:15PM, fished not far from the ramp and was blessed with 22 nice fish, enough to get to 700 on the year! Threw down my rod and Loaded my boat quick as a flash, pulled into the driveway at 7:15PM!Attachment 376322Attachment 376323

My wife says it was more like 7:45, but still it was at least a take on every other cast.

I have trouble in the summer, will be asking for all the help I can get, it is a shallow lake,and the surface temperature will reach and stay 80*

Didn't mean anything by that statement other than what was said. Haven't heard the final score yet, but Saturday on the lake I fish, a young man lost a leg on a wake board. He was ran over by another wake boat, and yes the waves come from all directions. Its kinda like new years eve, the rookies can have it on the holidays, I'll be back out next week...White Flag Icon

Good job. I’ve fished a few days that were dicey at best, but we caught fish in a big way that made us need to stay. I firmly believe that God keeps an eye on us fishermen, I know he’s looked after me many times. Good luck on making your number.

1000 should be a cake walk …..but sometimes setting a number is a jink …..been stuck at 74 fish before when we needed 75 to call it done
the fish just flat quit and were on fire the entire time we were there until someone said 74 only 1 more to go …..:Rofl

Awesome job so far this year! I've yet to catch my first. We'll be hitting the water sometime this coming week, hopefully! :)

Are you counting unders ? I have had more throwbacks this year than any in a long time.
There is a calendar some where that my late father kept. He and his fishing partners ( no more than one
per trip) caught well over 1000 crappie ( keepers) in a single creek , from November to February.

No, in February I caught around 100 8" crappie, maybe more. They were not counted toward the goal, and I have not caught a single fish under 10" since.

Well, can't say that anymore, caught two or three 8" fish tonight, and had to work really hard for 15 adults.

Good luck with your goal, I am sure you will make it ,

My home lake is in a cycle with lots of small fish. Some years we rarely have to measure a fish.
