Crankfest is where we fish for Crappie by pulling crankbaits, or pushing crankbaits. Traditionally the best method in the heat of summer. We call it crankfest, but you can fish any method you prefer. It's a good time.Quote:

I have reserved Campsite 11 at Coon Creek Campground, it is a double site next to the facilities. I also volunteered to host Crankfest at my site.
Bring food to share. I have a griddle similar to Steve's just smaller.

Bojac, How did you do?
Did horrible. 0 crappie, 2 bass &1 bluegill. My buddie caught them. I never caught a fish. Lol. Fished from 6:00 untill noon. Mill Creek. It was fun & relaxing but also frustrating. I learned some things & im ready to keep trying & experementing. It can only better !

Morning bites been horrible with the moon phase guys trolling cranks in the am 3 hrs no fish I’ve been going same lake from 6 pm to 9 pm catching 4 man limits no problem with nice walleyes Mixed in trolling crankbaits along brush on drop offs
I hate like heck to back out, but I am not going to be able to make the
get-together this year. I'll miss seeing everyone and sharing stories.

for those of you heading down to crank this weekend I thought I would give you an update. Wife and I were down last week it is on fire 5 days in a row of limits pushing 2oz weights and bandits or picos 18 to 26 feet of water on south end. There are a lot of 11” to 13” fish to be caught have fun

Just got back from Shelbyville and the reports are correct. The fish are going nuts or at least they were until the rain today. We will have to see how this affects them. We longlined jigs in water from 20 to 40 feet deep and down 10 to 12 feet. We only caught a double limit one day but were close all three days. Had a great time. Hope all you cranks have a great weekend.

I had a great time despite the rain. Pretty much rained Friday night thru Saturday night. We did have a brief couple hour break after lunch and managed to go fishing.
Jtmavs and myself pulled cranks and ended up with 8 overs out of a dozen and a have fish caught.
Chow was great tonight. Venison jajhitas, shrimp fried rice, potatoes salad.
It was great to see everyone. Meet a few newer members too.

Great time was had!!!!! Thanks Hanr for the hosting, awesome idea on the double site. Great cooking both nights. Clfarms, thanks to the wife for the potato salad, bean dip and beans. Need what was in that bean dip please. Craig, you did a wonderful job setting in as cookie monster for Daveb40, those were awesome but we still missed those that couldn't be there fishk3 dave b40, etc. Also, had a good time fishing sat afternoon with you, thanks for the invite.
