I would like to get a new jigging rod or two. I currently have a 7’ BnM SHSS and looking to add maybe a 10-13’ jigging rod. Prefer to stay at or below 70 bucks. Reel recommendations as well would be appreciated.

I’ve been happy with my 10’ Southern Crappie Rod. Ed is a super nice guy and extra bonus he is in North Carolina!
In that price range I really like the Jenko Kevin Rogers series 10'.

I use the Bucks 10' Crappie jig pole. Got several different kinds but they are my favorite.
I have a set of his 16’s and 14’s. I didn’t even consider him for a jigging rod. I will check them outQuote:

I'll chime in on not the rod, but the reel. A reel for crappie fishin is just a device to hold your line. I don't think I've ever payed more than $20,00 for one, most were under that. I know I have 7 that I paid about $9.00 for.
10 ft B&M duck commander double touch(33$ on B&M website) with a Pflueger President (37$ at Walmart) or a Shimano sienna(30$ at Walmart). You will thank me later.

$37 for a President is a good deal. They usually run around $45-$50.

used todd huckabee's jigging rods when we fished with Richard bowling guide on truman and they were very responsive but you still could bring big crappie into the boat easily. Also have used kevin rogers' new jig pole and it's really good as well.
I've tried a bunch. But ACC green stick is the best I have used. They are light and sensitive, but with more backbone than most.
I’ve got the Hypersense 10’ and it’s a great rod, I also have the KR 10’ for for heavier cover also a great rod. However since I added livescope to my boat I’ve changed to the Hypersense 13’ and that’s all I use anymore.Quote:

These are the options I have been weighing. I am thinking the Lucky 13 may be a good way to go. I do not see many people offering them though.

If you're gonna use a 10 pole for single poling, vertical jigging or float and jig I think a set up is SHSS 10' rear seat with Mr. Crappie Solo reels is perfect. If you intend to cast or spider rig or troll then you might want a mid handle rod and a spinning reel. I love my SHSS rear seat and Solo reels in 10' for the above purposes. I have 2 of them. It's the only way my wife will fish.

I do my jigging off docks and along walls, since I don't have a boat.
I use a 2' and a 4' ice rod with a very fast tip and an Eagle Claw inline ice reel that has both a drag and free spool. You can't cast this setup and it works just fine for jigging from a stable platform, and you can get right in tight with it, too; so I can work the edge of the dock shadow or tight along a shadowing wall. When the line, the jig head and the tail are balanced that gives the sweetest float down. Just like on the ice I do not want the jig to spin, and so the inline ice reel works very well and runs maybe $30. They didn't put out the fishing docks here on the Minneapolis Park lakes this year; so my jigging isn't happening much this summer.
Stay with what you have just move up in size .Stay home one trip and the savings toward a Sam Heaton 10, 11 , or 12 ft . Will be well worth the purchase . Buy once / cry once . :twocents
