Ol False River

Rain messed with my plans, so I decided to go check out False River.....I hear it’s on the rebound, so it was catch & release for the sacs.....
Caught half dozen & a perfect size flathead(didn’t release him).....bite was early, once north wind started pumping dat was it.....Caught sacs on Dwyane’s favorite jig, chartreuse......Mr whiskers fell to a black/chart grub

Good catch, I passed there coming home from Denham Sunday with Charline driving so I could enjoy the ride. I said to myself that there aught to be plenty Sacalait in there. There is enough room for a couple thousand brush piles.

WHAAOOOOO...now ya got my attention....nice ....where did you put in....

Mr Bruce someone took over that old marina that is about midlake and even added some floating boat slips. When you come in from fishing you can get in a game or two of beach volleyball.

I put in right next to Morel’s restaurant, New Roads
Yes Chip, the old Bonadventure’s Landing is now a volleyball deal
I remember going into the old store (early 80s),and admiring all the mounts on wall

I wore that lake out in the early 80s, catching Hybrid Stripers... Heard they are still putting them in there, so I might have to go troll down memory lane sometimes...

Also, for years False River was the bream hotspot, before they killed the grass "flats" at each end of the lake. Old River was the place to go for Sac a Lait... I spent a lot of time on both growing up!
