Nothing but bluegill.

Okay I lied, 8 bluegill and a 2lb bass lol. Went out this morning just for bluegill on the spot I went out yesterday for bass but got a lot of bluegill nibbles. Not good but not bad since I don’t fish a lot for bluegill and don’t know what I should do. On the other hands Majorcraft Speedstyle S63UL with 4lb Nanofil performed nicely casting “Trout Slayer” on 1 gram jig head but still struggling with trout magnet. Another bad experience with nanofil was “wind” a little bit of wind and I lost touch with the lure.

I tried Nanofil when it first came out and ran afoul of its missbehaving when one fishes slack lines, which I do as a matter of course with the very light lures I prefer. I gave up on it. I went back to GAMMA PolyFlex which I have been using for a long time. I have yet to find anything better.
When I get regular panfish nibbles but no real takes, I assume I have form right on my choice of tail and maybe not quite on it with the color. Or maybe form right and size a bit wrong; not always too big, sometimes too small. The nibbles tell you that you are close. You are probably just a tweak away.

Beautiful fish. I have those lures but haven't tried them yet. May have to today!

go back with a tiny bait and light tackle and wear them out to beat the band before they leave the shallows is my thoughts :cheers2

Great pictures, reminds me of a song about California Gills, they do have the sunshine and obviously get so tanned. If you have seen pictures of Lake Perris Gills, you would wish they all could be California Gills.

I looked a little closer and I think I saw a trout Slayer lure. I have them but have yet to put some serious time in with them. Have they been a consistent producer? Water conditions looked pretty good.

Yes trout slayer, it was pretty good until I lost it. I don’t use it often enough to confirm consistency. Yesterday on the other hand, 1.5” white tube got them good. BG is not picky eater they will bite anything big and small, I guess. I have seen ppl catch them on sort of thing, my friend told me he caught them on bare red hook lol.
