What size/make hook is recommended for minnows for Crappie fishing?
I use a #1 red Mr Crappie bent shank hook ( like the Tru Turn hooks) . I catch medium size Bluegill and really small crappie on these hooks. Some like smaller hooks . I prefer a larger minnow also around 3 inches.
Eagle claw 214 el extra light wire Aberdeen hooks,I prefer a size 2 or 4.
I've used #4 - #2 - #1 Aberdeen hooks ... bronze, gold, red ... and they all seem to work just fine. When I used minnows it was always the Med size (approx 2") Fatheads. But, if I had to settle on one size it would be a #2 Aberdeen.

some folks I know use jig heads when they use minnows , I know the sickle hook versions have very small barbs and the minnows will often swim off those.
By the way, welcome to the site. TONS of good advice and tips here.

I use red #2 Aberdeen hooks only, just my personal preference.
You're late. G already welcomed him nine years ago. ;)

I use #2 true turn hooks.
My minnow use are fatheads aka tuffies. So they are roughly 2"-21/2" that means a size #6 for me.
