To all my pushing friends out there I was wondering how long a leader y'all use from the weight to the crank? And are y'all using braid on the main line?

About 3 ft, from your nose to your outstretched arm. Main line....depends who you talk to.
I use 12 pound mono on all my line-counter reels. I use a leader 3-5 feet long with a swivel at the weight and swivel at the crank.
I’ve used both braid and hi vis mono for main line, a three way swivel, split rings and duo lock snaps on the swivels for the weights so they can be easily removed. Clear ten pound mono for my leader and the fish dictated that length. Most times, 3 to 5 feet worked good but have gone to 7 a few times in clearer water. .
Swivel weighs from Sinkermaker and a 3’ leader to the swivel at the crank. 12# hi vis Berkeley big game!
Thanks guys. That's some really good info.
Thanks for the good word but I have been forced by health issues to quit making sinkers.
Sorry to hear that, sinkermaker.

FWIW
If there are other members that are in the business of making trolling sinkers, I'd recommend checking them out ... otherwise you can check out Crawdads Fishing Tackle ( Fishing Weights and Sinkers
– Crawdads Fishing Tackle LLC ) or if you have a local Cabela's or BassPro (& if you're lucky) you might find some Offshore Angler brand trolling weights.
What they said. Hope to see you soon.
how long of poles do you guys use when pushing cranks
I use all...14 ft. pushing...I separate my spread by fanning the rod holder positions. Pulling is a different deal....have to vary lengths to get 4 ft. of separation on them.
Also sorry to hear that Sinkermaker, hope you get it turned around. I too hope to meet some folks face to face at some of our future gatherings.
