I've been fishing after sunset lately but the mosquitoes are starting to come out. I've been wearing a long sleeve shirt but they get around my head and neck. Any tips on ways to keep them away?

There are various head nets you can buy. I use one similar to this:

I think Walmart has one that’s even cheaper.
I have an 18 volt fan that runs on my tool batteries (Makita).
I've heard they're effective, but I don't know that they're as safe as I would like - especially for whatever fish I catch but might want to release.
"Toxicity of Thermacell Mosquito Repellent containing d-cis/trans allethrin: d-cis/trans allethrin is labeled Caution category III for mammalian exposure (slightly toxic to relatively non-toxic), non-toxic to birds and highly toxic to fish and invertebrates. As with anything volatile, chronic exposure (continued exposure over long periods of time) may lead to adverse health effects but studies are lacking on long-term exposures to mosquito repellents of this kind..."

I started experiencing a skin reaction to DEET many years ago, so nowadays I just use a mesh bug suit: head net, jacket and pants.

Deep wood off has always worked for me. Also hear Avon skin so soft keeps them away.

Avon Bug guard works great on skeeters,,,
Thermacell. Less effective if you're moving. Great for stationary fishing.
Another vote for Thermacell.

I really don't like skeeterz , I might just pack it up and go if they are in numbers ….my 2 cents
Eat copious amounts of garlic !
:-)
I wonder if the limited exposure to the Thermacell in a boat would out weigh the discomfort and possible adverse effects of mosquito bites?
My buddy tried an experiment for skeeters. Beer farts. Didn't work on skeeters but I wanted to fish from the shore. Repeled me real well.

Wind.
Maybe not... or maybe so. I have a hard time understanding how a fish brought in COULDN'T be exposed given that the device creates a "15-Foot Zone of Protection" (per the company's website), but I've never used it myself so maybe there's something I don't understand about it.
As I said, I've heard it's effective, and I could imagine trying it out myself in various situations. I just don't know that fishing is a good application for it and at present I wouldn't feel comfortable about it for either myself or especially any fish that I might want to release.
Different strokes...

Which Blood Types Do Mosquitoes Prefer? People with Type O blood are more than universal donors. They're also “tastier” to mosquitoes. In fact, according to a study, certain species of the insect landed on the skin of people with Type O blood almost twice as often as they did on the skin of those with Type A.
Only female mosquitoes bite. Tell them their sister is cuter. They will leave you alone.
All kidding aside, the Mosquito is the deadliest creature on earth. Wear whatever works for you, but at least wear repellent of some kind. If you don't like deet, try Natrapel. Its works well
Thermacell been good to me on water/deer stand and work
