Total fish to date is 944. Hope to get some more this afternoon.
good lord thats over 8 a day assuming youve been every day this year. are those all crappie you kept?
I did one year pulling crankbaits only counting fish over 12" and the total was 798. Big crappie make bartering easy, vegetables, small welding repairs and it just a good feeling to see the look on peoples face when you offer them some fish. If you figure 10-15 plus fish 3 times a week on average it dont take long to add up. Being retired has its perks .
I catch around 2000 crappie a year.....but I’m not a crappie fisherman. I’m an UL angler who fishes with actual 2# test line and once I find them I just keep casting until they no longer bite....love the fun. I’m over 400 crappie from just 4 days fished during the past 2 weeks....12-13.5 inches. Over 100 from one spot siting on the bank on Tuesday. The lake these come out of you can keep 15, ten inch length limit. I have not kept a crappie in the past 5 years.....rare for me to keep any fish but do on occasion. I used to keep meticulous records but as I’ve aged I’ve quit doing that. For the past couple of years my YouTube channel is where I go to to see my records. Starting end of June.....and lasting through August I’ll get on a spot that produces hundreds of crappie.....and I’ll fish it over and over with same lure. Not many will target crappie for the fun factor.....but the gear I fish with....Super Ultra Light rods and Xtra Ultra Light rods.....it is an absolute ball.

I always lose count after 1 :Rofl
Seems I have to get to one.
I’m a crappie fisherman by night but bass angler by day. I still don’t catch a lot maybe only 100-200 this 2020. I don’t keep crappie every trip just enough to make my wife happy from time to time. I only keep 11-13” crappie smaller or bigger get released no matter what, and that goes with whoever come fish with me. So far I’ve kept around 30.
I've been fishing about 4-5 days a week. But some days it's only an hour or so. All bank fishing except one short session on a boat.
The count consists of about 50% crappie, 30% bluegill and 20% bass. The vast majority were caught on UL rigs. The numbers mount up when you have some 40-50 fish days. I hope to top 1000 before the end of the month. :biggrin
haven't even been yet this year other then a couple times from pier on local lake, last year went 19 times and caught 968 all crappie.
So far this year 38. Last year I kept 10
ketched number is around 5000 or so a year , kept number is around 250 or 300
sometimes the number of ketched soars , but not the last few years .
slowing down in my old age I suppose :Rofl
I have caught 1000 crappie for the last three years running, less than 40 were killed. My home lake is closed to fishing and has been since March 15th so I am way behind this year, they should have a very successful spawn though.

Walt & I keep a very accurate tally and post the tally at the end of each season here on "The New England States" forum below. Here's last years results:

About 8 years ago I had a pretty good year. Over 5700 fish in my boat by me and numerous friends. Can’t right say how many were kept but that was the number in my journal for that season. That included all species of fish. This year I’ve been out 5 times. 3 in my boat. Total of 85 so far and got skunked that last day out.
I used to try to catch every fish in the lake and harvest every squirrel, rabbit and deer That I could . Now when my counter hits 15 or 20 I am looking for the trailer unless someone with me wants more . lol Age has a way of calming the beast . Retirement allows you to be there when it gets right also . I found that magic number that leaves me fish-less in Feb . No old fish for me . 75 crappie, 50 red ear. 50 blue gill, 50 white humpback from the Tenn. river .
I catch a lot but keep a few, I do not keep count of totals. I do keep a diary for lakes, conditions, and the day. IE- Water temp, BP, moon and so on.
