Does anyone here have one of these? Tell us about it..
A lot of people do. Plenty of information on them on YouTube. I think most of us didn’t like it the first few times out with it, but once we figured it out — it was great.
You don’t need livescope to catch a limit, but it helps catching it quicker!
It is the greatest thing since the rod and reel...You can learn so much about how the fish react to your bait, boat, trolling motor, etc.....but as same time it can make you madder than you ever have been too...One thing about it, if the fish don't want to bite you can't make them...
What do you want to know? Love mine and very rarely do I single pole fish. Have learned lots about fish reactions and movements watching the screen. Have also missed several fish while staring at the screen...:biggrin
They are nice
Love mine! Definitely a game changer. It is however very frustrating when you can see them and troll everything in the boat at them and they wont bite. Can definitely eliminate dead water with it. I cant say that it has improved my catch rate just yet, I'm still learning it. Trolling it is crazy watching them run up to a jig and you call the bite before it happens. I cant wait to start fishing brush piles and structure with it. I believe that is when it will truly shine!
Yep I've fish with people that have it and they all look at it and miss fish. It is very nice but very pricey. When the price comes down I will definitely buy one but I think you looking at about $2500 or more for one. Best I can tell for what little I've used it it's not a searching tool but helps pin point them. It wouldn't be my first perches but if you already have a good trolling motor and side image than go for it.
I see a lot of guys pay a lot of $$ for electronics that they think will make them a great fishermen, just keep in mind you have to learn to catch them first. Just something to think about before you spend a lot of money. At the end of the day it's your decision and money, if it's not going to hurt your finances and you want it go for it.

I have a simple fishfinder/chart plotter but often don't turn it on. Electronics are great, but you've got to pay attention to the fish!
I won’t be spending 2500$. Like above, when they go down I will be interested. I want a better trolling motor first.. but for trolling or spider rigging I don’t know how much it would help. My guess is jigging brush tops. You can pull up to it and see fish or no fish before you waste time on it.
I use it spider rigging. Basically I use it for a confidence builder, it will show you if there is definitely fish in the area or not. It will show you there depth and their movements. I used it fishing in 20' water with double minnow rigs. I could see 2-3 fish looking at the bait at the same time and none of them would bite. Can get a little aggravating. I can also use it to show me exactly how deep my baits are in relation to location of the fish. And then it is just a bonus when I have it pointed to right bait when the fish hits. The 3# I caught a week ago, the livescope just happen to be pointing to that bait when she bit. I had watched that fish swim around for 10 mins of so before I caught her.

The motors with electric steering have a big advantage over cable while trolling. Not to mention the ability to set a heading or the ability to set a speed by GPS. And if you got a degree in rocket science you can set and record a path for it to follow

It works great for everything, but the problem with looking for fish with it is you have to stop and put the trolling motor down to use it. It's best to search with a good side imagine then go to the live scope to make your cast or approach if you are spider rigging. It would probably save me a few cast that it takes me to find the brush pile. I can see some cases where it would be very helpful like fishing a stump row where there's 1 or 2 fish on random stumps but most of what I do side image is a better option. I can ride by and scan it in seconds and I know if there's fish there. I'm not looking for 2 or 3 fish very often. I'm looking for the mother load! I will have a live scope one day but for now I'll stick with my lowrance Attachment 372387Attachment 372388

Once I learned how to use my Livescope, I very seldom strike out on a fishing trip. It hasn't helped much if the fish are shallow, but if the fish are in 3 feet or deeper, you can eliminate barren water. I've learned a lot about how crappie respond to certain bait presentation and also realized how spooky they are when you approach them.
Yes I agree that the perspective view will be very helpful. I heard that Garmin is still working the bugs out of the system right now. I’m going to wait until then.

it is pretty darn cool technology and most all the competitive pro types use it .
it makes ketch fish about as simple as it can get .
watching your bait and the fish in a live situation is really nifty .
it can be frustrating though and it can just as easily make it to easy .
my bud has a nice one and it will in fact be a valuable tool if you master how to use it .
my 3 cents
