VERY NICE CONGRATS . :ThumbsUp

A great day for sure, congrats!

Beautiful fish! What an evening!
-
Nice fish congrats. I'm going to give drop shotting a try.
-
Very nice report and some great pictures. Drop shotting works for most freshwater species.

Awesome catch, never drop shot from the bank. I think that VA Crappie dude does it also. I have always drop shot from the boat in deep water, +20ft in the Fall of the year. Maybe I am missing something for this time of year?

Drop shotting from the bank is good for when you don't want to use a float and need some casting distance, or you just want to given the fish a different look. Plenty of fish can be caught. If you ever watched any of EPF's videos, you'll see he uses the drop shot often.

I used to drop shot sunfish a lot more than I do now. It is an excellent way to pick off bluegill off the bed with crickets!

I really need to give the drop-shot rig more of a chance.
Looks like a stellar day!

Nice drop shot is how I fish most of the time
-
I have never drop shot from the bank either just usually fish a float. Might give it a try.
-
Did it again tonight and bagged about another 20 including some bass. Lots of fun.

So what type and weight shot are you using.
-
First day I just put on two small split shots. The next day I bought a sinker designed for drop shot (like the one at the link below). In both cases the weight was 1/8 oz or less. I'm fishing in a pond, so there is no current. I only needed enough weight to get to the bottom but not so much that the sinker would get stuck in the crud on the bottom.

Thanks for the info. I have a pond that I am definitely going to give this a try. Lots of crud on the bottom so I usually float fish. This might be a good alternative.

I still wind up with crud on the sinker on many casts. Even snagged and pull one off yesterday.
