Green works best for me. This year I plan on using more white.
Blue/chartreuse & Purple/chartreuse would have to be on the top of my list of jig colors ... and solid Pink would be a close second to Purple/chart.
For me, electric chicken is something I always have on at least one of my rods. Hard to beat pink & chartreuse in just about any combination. For whatever the reason, as often as I try black & chartreuse, it just doesn't work well for me (?).
I put out a mixture of different colors and catch fish

I love bright orange with chart tails right now .
but that will pass and on to what I like next .
some of it depends on the water clarity and sometimes the time of day
if white or chartreuse don't work get out the minnows.
black/chartuse is my go to
Seem's like every lake I go to they just love the Bluegrass color.
LittleJohn
Blue metal flake, black back/silver belly,purple/chart, gold, clear metal flake, electric chicken and so on.. everything works sometimes.
Me personally color is not a big deal for me it is the using the right weight of jig to give my plastics the correct action that the fish want as I never use live bait for Crappies.
Blk/chart or wht/chart.
LIME TWIST GLOW, SUNSHINE, WILDCAT, BLACKBERRY PIE, WIDOW MAKER
My favorite color is the one I caught my last fish on...:cheers2
purple/chartreuse for me
Black and chartreuse.
Close seconds are tenn shad and green pumpkin/chartreuse.
If I can't catch them on a Charlie Brewer Slider grub on a slider head by casting with one of those colors they just ain't gonna get caught by me that day.
Bluegrass and black and chartreuse has been our go to this year
Char.green metal flake is my go to in plastics.
I'm with longhunter...the last color used to catch that fish, hahaha. Usually anything with chartreuse, or chartreuse alone.
Confidence color is junebug/chartreuse. But black/chartreuse or pink/chartreuse way up there as well

I must say, If you don't have confidence in a color it's not likely you'l catch fish with it. I tend to fish colors I have caught fish on before...there fore more confidence.
BGBS colors: screamer, elec chicken. I like minnow and blue ice also.
Grubs. Far and above white body chartreuse tail
I use them all but these produce for me often.

It’s all about confidence on most days but some days if you and got what they wanting you going to be skunked ! I have 30 or colors / differ baits but I’m using up what I have before replacing because I can usually always get bit on monkey milk, blue ice , white chartreuse ,or black chartreuse! So don’t buy into all the colors like I have get you 5-6 confidence baits and fish on! :twocents
Probably search "favorite color".. j/s....

Seen a lot of combo colors I haven't tried.
For me, pink jighead with white body, second is chartreuse jighead with white body, third is black jighead with black body.
I’ll just use some of Bobby Garlands colors, blue ice, blue thunder, double silver rainbow, bluegrass, monkey milk. If those don’t work, I’m headed home. I fish stained water.
Chartreuse head , black body and Kingfisher blue tail.

Jig head color preference was asked - not lure color. Unpainted jig heads are all I use. Don't want to detract from the lure.Quote:

Oh. Jig head. Always unpainted

Unpainted head with Pourhouse Custom baits are working well for me.
sometimes anything will work ,have try all colors, plastic maribou, have even caught crappie on a big treble hook with a 1 oz. sinker on top of it trying to retrieve a lost outfit.but if only allowed one lure it would be a white maribou 1/16 oz. jig
Actually, I’m looking for info on overall jig combos. Jig head, tubes.....
Thanks

Black and Chartreuse for me lately
I didn't want to say nothing but thats the way I understood it. The whole thing...
OKAY ... in that case :
Casting : 1/16oz Weedless jighead & Slabanator Mini Rod or Shad (Wildcat or Pokeberry Pie)
Casting : 1/16oz marabou Road Runner (pink) (custom made by Skiptomylou)
Pushing : 1/16oz & 1/8oz Jigheads + Slabanator Hot Rod or Booty Thumper (various color combos)
right now THIS color on whatever head ….hands down and I have about 6 fellas that will tell ya they are worth about 5 bucks each at this very moment in time !
just gave 4 to my bud yesterday as a matter of fact ,custom poured .
Ninja turtle cowabunga is what we call them ….
and KABOOM is the action when a fish sees one :highfive
When it comes to lure colors, always white for fur or feather jigs. Soft plastic color preferences depend on lure design.

Color is in the eye of the beholder. What we see above the surface is different than what fish see below it and especially in low light. So when it comes down to preference, lure size and action are what matter most (though I will not use solid grape, black, orange or red lures even if fish might bite them).
Jig head, I will generally use a 1/32 ball head collarless jig, mostly plain, but have painted some with powder. My preference is alewife, but have used others...and have been having extreme luck using pointed tail minnow imitations in the 1 7/8" to 2 1/4" sizes/ Body color again straight chartreuse, or most any color with chartreuse combo. Cloudy sunless days gold bodies and perch powder painted head,( which is a goldish orange), works well also.
