o the humanity Armageddon mass chaos and hysteria dogs sleeping with cats what's next.
So we're ok using a private ramp then?

This kind of leaves it open......how about ramps belonging to businesses and marinas as these are privately owned? Would gladly pay my 5$ to keep fishing. Im by myself unless my son joins me.
Would that be the nc side of Wylie also

I saw 20 to 30 youth on a small pier the other day, and a runabout boat loaded with at least a dozen when Police arrived and ordered that park CLOSED. They had ZERO concern about covid 19 or their family at home that they could transmit the virus to. (Alabama, BTW)
People need to grow up!
Yes, it's going to suck for a while. But the river banks aren't closed and the Big Allison pier will be over crowded until the law runs them off. So, I guess I'll have to take up drinking and chasing women again. Nah! That cost to much and can get complicated. I may as well resort to making some soft baits and melt up some lead weights but other than that, it's work and stay home and hope I don't get the crud from someone's recycle or trash. You'll come up with a plan and holler out.
I'm getting to the point I might call Brett for some meds. I'm out already! :Rofl

This can be attributed to all the idiotic pleasure boaters whose blatant disregard to social distancing by having 10 more people in their boats, who gather by the hundreds on every available sand bar, and really just don’t care.
No. NC side does not apply

According to his order PRIVATE PROPERTY owned ramps are NOT under this order. Therefore, your private owner Marina's do not fall under this order. SCDNR has a list of all PUBLIC ramps that are included in the closure. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
NC isn't far behind. The DNR was out taking pictures at certain ramps this past Sat so it's coming. I don't blame anyone for wanting to enjoy the lake but when you cram 300+ boat trailers into one landing it tends to get their attention. Parking lot was stacked so they resorted to parking along the roadway.
We got the last parking space at the ramp we used on tillery Saturday at about 7:00. By the time we came out there were at least 20 more trailers and trucks parked at in tie down areas and up and down the road. Won’t be long before they close nc as well.
The lake is not closed to fishing( yet). You can launch from any private marina that has a ramp, any friend that has a ramp on his property, etc.
My friend keeps his in a private slip at a marina. He can come and go as he pleases.
My point is that the SCDNR is at fault. Instead of punishing everyone, why didn't the officers give the guilty parties hefty fines? This would have been enforcement...their job. As usual, the government has a knee jerk reaction and the governor closes all the ramps instead of telling the law enforcement to do their job. Am I wrong?
There likely aren't near enough DNR officers to enforce the laws on all the lakes. The number of idiots is staggering. In addition, it would be putting the DNR agents at risk of a slow painful death from the COVID. Best solution to the larger problem was to close access. Now they can find all the idiots in a smaller area to write tickets.
You wait til sat, the same ones will be back out there on the water doing the same thing, minus the fisherman. on the islands , ganged up, you wait and see. They were everywhere sun on wateree! Unreal!
Yup, took me a good 30 minutes to get to the landing at Bowdens on Beaver Creek, lake was full of pontoons and jet skis, and the boats trying to put in were lined up all down the landing, the drive, and halfway to 97 around 1pm
They finally managed to ruin it for fishermen.
They have been trying for decadesSent from my SM-G965U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Last I heard there are 2-3 officers per county to enforce all land and water issues. Do you really think DNR can cover every public access point and every hang out on the water. No chance! Only one at fault are the people you continue gather in masses and keep the spread going.
Most Carolina lakes probably are rural enough to where you’re correct about lack of officers. But I tell you one thing. Lake Wylie is opposite. Between the S.C. DNR, N.C. DNR, Mecklenburg county police, Gaston county police, and York county police they got more boats than a Spanish Armada...I was crappie fishing under buster boyd bridge last year at night and was checked by ALL of them at ONCE. They have abundant manpower on this lake to enforce the craziness. Again, this is just my lake here. I can’t speak for anyone else.

They don't have to cover every public access...what about the ones they identified last weekend. The usual hangouts are "party island" @ Hartwell, etc. If they seen them, they should have done something. I can go fishing and put in at the same ramp and not come in contact with anything or anyone within 6'...
No no say it isn't so! Let me get this straight all public ramps are closed correct? But if u have access to a private ramp you can still fish am I correct on that?

That's right bean if you have to pay to launch you can still go. Just think about this stores are open for people to shop and hospitals are open so why aren't they worrying about them. The virus should be running loose and spreading every where but it isn't. People are still working and the only one that got a raw deal is the food industry. Crock of you now what in my opinion.
Out of curiosity I looked some stats up. There are 5.2 million residents in South Carolina and since it was announced we have 1125 confirmed cases and the government is running peoples lives and lively hood over this. More people have died from drunk driving than the virus
Thanks sinkermaker my wife was in here nervous thinking she would have to put up with me every day of my vacation next week. The fish have been biting very well on the parts of the lake santee cooper that I fish. And if I'm not mistaking full moon is in a couple of days so guess I'll be ok. Yes the food industry has taken a big hit. And there will be more things to come I'm sure of it Attachment 370631

Nice mess of fish I got my own ramp and planning on trying it Thursday and Friday to see if I can find enough to eat.
My wife has sheer panic on her face when she realize I won't be getting out of house.:biggrin
SCDNR has closed all 16 state lakes
