Good Goobily-goo, that is a stud!!! My wife caught her 3.49lber in Feb. 2018 and it was released safely back into HR. I'd like to think it would be caught again someday pushing the 4lb mark.
Dang nice fish!
Wow ! good one
Wow, just Wow!
That big ole' wide grin pretty much says it all!!! Outstanding feat... especially to have done it twice.
Congratulations are definitely in order. Thanks for sharing your accomplishment with the rest of us.
Wouldn't it be awesome to catch one like that, get pix and measurements, and let her swim away? I've caught about 30 at Norman the last 2 weekends from 12-15.5" and was able to turn them all back to take part in Spring festivities. Just thinking about the gene line of such an awesome fish and the generations to come. Certainly not faulting the guy that caught the one above, as in the past I would have kept it as well. I guess as I've gotten older I think about things a bit differently.

I am the guy who caught this great fish. It was caught in Crane Creek. I shot a jig under a pier where I knew that there was brush under it. I began a fast retrieval to try to keep from getting hung up when my line went tight. I thought oh well I guess I got the brush pile. As I pulled a little , I could feel it move so I thought a piece of the brush had come loose so I could pull it in and at least get my jig back. Well she made a splash and then I knew it was a fish. She wrapped the line around the pier post and was close to the top of the water between me and the pier. I knew that if she splashed much that she would break my line. I didn't have much time so I grabbed my net and was able to scoop her in. Just as I did the line broke and the jig fell loose in her mouth. I was just lucky in the right place at the right time. Never did I dream of catching a fish like this.
Congrats and great report on the catch. Thanks for sharing! What a beauty!
