Rolls the GLS10 gain back to prior version. On their website now.
Actually it contains GLS10 ver 2.33, which is new, but the changelog says it just uses the 2.20 "gain tables". Loading it now, but weather is bad today. Might have to test it tomorrow. I'm betting it looks the same as 2.20.
Weather beautiful. It has the new update that fixed the 18.10 and GLS 10. Not just a roll back but a new upload. Of course, now that I am rigged to the gills (sorry for the pun) they have closed the lake and all access points including our private park/ramp. And I thought I had the perfect plan to fish by myself or with my brother while the world passed by. Oh well.

Just got another bit of info. Jawjatek was exactly right. The actual update was for the GLS10 and is expected to repair the former update that made for a not so clear screen. The 18.10 for the chartfinder remains as the correct update and the newer version for the GLS10 should fix the problem. They are asking for feedback to confirm they got it right. I would love to contribute but they shut down our lakes in Central Texas.

Great news!!!!
A friend took his out for a quick trip today, and he said it was just like 2.20 as far as gain settings and picture. We have a ton of pollen in the water right now, and it is degrading the picture in it's own way. We're testing, err, I mean fishing, all day tomorrow.
Does the new update still have a "perspective view" available or just the forward /down as in the original version?
Thanks
Yes it does MikeF

I did not install the last update( iced in) and I think I may wait for reviews on the latest update.
Good Luck guys
It does add the perspective view so I definitely wanted the 18.10 and the corrected update for the GLS10. Expecting the Perspective mount shortly but will have to wait for the shelter in place edict to be raised to try it all out. Guess I will go clean my boat (smile).

It looks the same to me, we spent hours on the lake today. If you want reviews, read the old ones for v2.20, LOL. No difference in picture or gain settings, same - same. It is V2.20, but with Perspective, for whenever they ship the mounts. I have not tried Perspective mode yet; I'm waiting on the mount like most. Interested if anyone has run it in P mode? I wonder if they jacked the gain to make that feature work better, and had to put it back. Hmmm. I wonder if there is any difference now with that mode. Anyway, I ain't gonna give it too much more thought or tests, because I am going FISHING.:ThumbsUp
I was not necessarily looking for improvement on the past version but a fix on the bad update so if it is as good as prior to the bad update then I am ecstatic. Thanks for posting. Our lakes are shut down to middle of April, as of now.

Help me out here, does the on screen menu have a option for perspective mode or does the unit automatically detect the transducer orientation?
I am waiting on the mount, did the update yesterday, says the GLS10 is version 2.33, I don't think it changed the 93sv version still says 11/20?
Fished 5 hours yesterday, ghost tree is gone, frickin Asian carp still dominate the screen here on KY lake.
I have a mount on order but also made a mount for now. Used it a couple of times and didn't really notice an issue with forward view. Had read that the active captain download was the issue but if you downloaded to the memory card it was good. What method did you use for the update?
A few perspective pics.

Nice pics .
Best ive seen.
Can you easily see fish moving around or is it a structure search tool?

Yes, you can see them moving.
I updated my units to the new version and fished yesterday. It did change my gain setting a bunch. I was running around 75% most of the time. Now I'm down around 67%. Other than that I saw no real difference. I still have ghost tree and dead spots at times. Shallow water makes it look pixelated. I'm calling garmin today.
So do you have a homemade Perspective mount or trying to get those shallow shots with standard forward view?

I was talking about forward view. I dont have a mount yet. Garmin sent me some things to try tomorrow. I have a buddy who has a portable unit we are going to swap things around to isolate it. Garmin told me they would replace whatever is bad but it's all on backorder until the 4/20.
guys Im trying to upload this new file to my 1022 Chart. I have used two differeent SD cards both 32's Downloaded to my PC then sent to card. Powered up the 1022 and inserted card as per what I have been told to do. Nothing happens to indicate the unit has recongized the card. I have checked and the file that I downloaded to my PC from the Garmin website wasn't a zipped file or is it? need some help please.
The file is an exe, an executable, so you have to RUN it on your PC after downloading. Double-click the download, and it will then do the unzipping to the card for you. You cannot just copy it to a card and expect it to work. This comes up all the time.
I would format your sd card before you start..
