Is there a way to share waypoints between two of these units (helm and bow) other than with a SD card? I read something about an optional cable, but I do not see that cable available for purchase. Thanks for your help!

You can use the brown and blue wires that come on the power cord. Just connect the brown wire on one unit to the blue wire on the other.
Is this a chirp unit? If not, you need the marine network cable.

You need the cable listed above.
Thank you!
I know this thread is a few months old but having never owned a garmin unit I have a question. I bought 2 Garmin Echomap UHD 93SV systems this morning at Bass Pro. I also bought a panoptix system. Reading the previous replies to this thread it looks like I need the RJ45 Margine Network Cable to connect the two units, but the only eithernet connection I see on the back seems to be for the panoptix system. Can you not teather these two units and share waypoints and the like if you are using the livescope? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Check page 39 of your owners manual for info. (It's a little confusing, I know.)
I have 2 of the non-uhd 93sv's connected with a network cable I made myself, and it works wonderfully, but I don't have livescope. It's my understanding you have to do something different when livescope occupies the network port. Hopefully, someone with experience will chime in.
A cheap option would be to insert an SD memory card into your unit at the console. Your waypoints & such would be saved on it. Then take it out & insert it in the other unit when you are using it. Anything you do there will also be saved to the card. Ferrying the card between units is certainly not an ideal solution, especially if you were to drop the SD card overboard, but would only set you back 10 or 15 bucks while you decide if the network port adapter would be worth the price.
(You could post a "want to buy" ad in the classified section of the forum & maybe find a used adapter for much less.)
I just called Garmin because I had a similar question. I want to share data (waypoints) between my old 93 Plus unit and a newly purchased 93 UHD unit. I (we) need the marine networking cable, part # 010-10551-00 to connect the two units. However, as previously stated, this will use the Panoptics port. The tech said to get that box you mentioned or go a cheaper route and use a switch from Netgear...however, it won't be as waterproof as the $250 box. If I ever get Livescope, I'll probably just unplug/unplug cable since I'll be using the Livescope xducer vs TM-mounted xducer.
I'm a bit of a computer guy, & thought about the idea of using a cheap switch made for home networks, but didn't want to post about it in case there was something unusually special bout the Garmin product making it essential. Good to know & thanks for sharing. The plug/unplug scenario when running 2 transducers would also be way more convenient than ferrying a memory card between units.
For anyone with the necessary crimpers & cat 5 cable on hand, all you need is the Garmin connectors to make it waterproof. Way cheaper than the overpriced cable from Garmin.
Easy to do & looks factory.
Unfortunately, I don't have the tools or materials to do that, but it does look good! Guess I'll spend the $35-40 to get one.
I too just purchased 2 of the Echomap UHD 93sv units from the GPS Store for the same price BassPro was advertising them for. The Livescope will have to wait a while though. Maybe in 2021. Good to know that a normal network router will work as long as it’s kept dry.
Was that price 499 each? Thanks wanting 1 purchase today
Got mine at BPS for $599 last week.
If just wanting to share waypoints you can use the blue and brown wires on the power cable. Use any wire and just wire them opposite color to create a Nema 0183 network. So take the brown wire from one unit and wire it the blue on the opposite unit.
Garmin also sells a “data cable” that does this, but speaker wire works fine.

yeah get used to the sticker shock, they aren't bashful in asking for more money
Could you make a waterproof box? For the Netgear switch? Use something like this - NBF-32012 BUD Enclosures | Hawk Electronics .
How do you figure the pin out?
Bricks, while holding the RJ45 connector with the snap clip arm on the bottom, and the eight little gold arms facing up and furthest away from you; The numerical positions are numbered right to left - one thru eight. It's my understanding that with Garmin connectors, the brown wire is always furthest to the right (position eight). If I'm wrong, someone please step in and correct me.
