Find em fast
What's the best way to cover a lot of water fast and cover a lot of lures, baits and flies quickly to find what panfish want?
My local lakes are hard to pinpoint what the perch, crappie, bluegill whatever else wants let alone find them.
Having to fish from shore I want to cover a lot of water fast so I can focus on catching a lot, mainly yellow perch, quickly.

Get you some Road Runners and fan cast each location..

I like a rooster tail as a search bait. They also make trout version, available through BPS, that are very efficient and much more weedless.

Beetle Spins, Road Runners and Rooster Tails are the 3 go to in my book. I prefer the Beetle Spins a little more because they are a little more weedless, but all 3 work good.

Another vote for fan casting Beetle Spins and Rooster Tails. Once you catch one, slow down and fish small plastics and live bait.

Throw some type bladed bait . Road runners , beetle spins , stump knockers (bps brand ). Hit all lake points, then the dam , then deep ditches . Pretty much the way I search all lakes for bream .
-
So throw the shiny until I at least get some hits and then start targeting with everything.
The beetle spin sounds like a good idea, lots of weeds, lots of pads. And lots of everything to get caught up in.

Is there a rig that will help with finding what they want once I find them?
Maybe a small jig with 2 droppers spaced out with different
Baits, flies and lures?

live bait is hard to beat if you want to deal with it

I like fly fishing for Blue Gill but when the going gets tough a worm and slip bobber are king
-
Live bait is not an option here unfortunately, not fish anyway. Can use crawdads or other things caught in the same body of water though, just no live fish.
I'm thinking of getting some of those worms that someone sells here. I raise redworms already so they would be a good addition.

Start out with a Road Runner and once you get onto fish, switch to a small, straight tailed plastic, like a BG Baby Shad. You'll get plenty. Also, not knowing how your boat is rigged out, you might consider side pulling to create a wider search path.
-
Beetlespin , would be my first option.
-
Once you find the more aggressive fish I would slow down and then fish the smaller 1" plastics on a small jig. The 1" sliders on a 1/32 oz jig work pretty good.
-
I have used the 1" Sliders in the past and tip with a cricket. It will catch anything that swims. Get ready to catch when you fish with it.
-
I forgot I used the actual Slider 1/32 head with a willow leaf blade.

I don't have a boat nor any friends to fish with so I am stuck from shore. American lake in WA does allow chumming so maybe that will be the trick to get schools of fish to come into where I can catch them.
