Anyone trolling hand tied jigs?
I seem to do better on Bobby garlands because of the bait movement i suspect.
Comments?
Thanks

I do use hand ties as I tight line. I will generally have two minnows, two plastics and two of my hand ties. Catch rate is about even across all lines. All lines are at the same depth, colors will vary till I see a pattern.

I have used my little Roadrunners for years, well since the late 1970's when I stumbled on to trolling with my troll motor. I do really well with my nah ties trolling, but I use 1/32 Oz all the time in Spring and Fall. Oh and of course these all have marabou tails.

Hand ties are all I use, when I am trolling. Black chartruese and purple chartruese are my favorites, 1/32oz or 1/16oz head with #4 hooks.
I'm gonna try em again tomorrow
At least 1/2 of the rods

Would you that troll with them care to share a picture of the kind of jig you use? I am real intrested.
I'm just learning the jig troll game and prefer hand ties. If it doesn't wiggle I think it should flash if trolled. Pony jigs are my favorite but I am by no means an expert.
For some 1/32 Oz jigs I long line troll with.
Spring and fall for me...

Then summer tight lining and slow trolling would be things like this.

Believe it or not natural colored, ungaudy 1/80 oz w/#8, 10 have been very successful for me short-lined no-weight added. Astonishing results 10 feet behind transom!

I like to troll hair and marabou jigs along with plastic.
I do believe that I catch more fish on the plastic, but I feel the hair jigs produces a better quality fish.
