Planning on fishing Blue Mountain on Saturday. If we get 5 inches of rain like the weatherman said this morning, how much will the water level rise?
Depends where it falls at . If it covers river valley above the lake could jump several feet . It is a flood control lake .
Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I haven't seen a forecast of that much rain. Is that forecast still expected?
Ok, thanks. Well it doesn't look like it will be that much by tomorrow and that is what I thought he was saying. By the end of next week I guess that could be the case though.
Been fishing Blue Mountain for over 25 years biggest problem is it doesn't take a lot of water to make a big difference in a 2,600 acre lake.

Fishing report for Blue Mountain Lake 4-15-2020...
Water was WAY up... wind was gusty... air temp mid 40's until late afternoon... water temp close to dam about 58 degrees... water temp toward Petite Jean River about 64 degrees.
All to be expected with the recent weather.
The bite was S-L-O-W on minnows and assorted jigs.
The new Garmin Panoptix was invaluable in finding fish.
The crappie we caught were 10-12' deep in 20' of water.
Did catch a few keepers close to 2lbs... ALL FISH WERE FULL OF EGGS.

I have a rough time out there when the waters up that high. 2 springs like that in a row……crappie population should be doing pretty well out there

I agree. It's too hard to chase them up in the flooded woods. They're scattered.

I know Blue Mountain is high but I was wondering about the color.Has anyone seen it since the last rain?
