People don't post on here like they used to, probably a good thing for the lake. Makes it a bit of a gamble to come that far, but, as a well known guide I know down there told me many times, "just come down and fish!"
I think biggest reason your not seeing a lot of posts is not a lot of people fishing and from folks I have talked to even less catching. And more rain is not going to help much in the short term. When I don’t see a bunch of guys posting here or on Facebook I know it’s slow. I’d give it a couple of weeks if it was me.
Thanks Cray, I will hold off for a bit, hope y’all don’t get much rain in the next couple of weeks but it’s that time of year
Fish are being caught.

I prefer waiting til later in the season...March is always a tougher time,,,
Transition time. Theyre scattered. Lots of fish caught this weekend but big ones are hard to find.

No big ones. Big mature girls probably dump eggs deep if the lake keeps dropping 3” a day. Act boys looking hard for them big girls.
Water dropping and steady rain???? The sho nuff riff raff are fishing from buzzard roost to Starnes Ditch!

I am guessing the coordinates are within 200 yards of ditch. The water was muddy and I was unable to mark stumps used for navigation!

Last year I found several catfish slat traps by sound of fish! The water was falling fast and traps were slam full of 13" eel skins catfish.

I did impress 1 young fisherman I carried fishing. He wondered how I could track the cheese smell.

I remember the starnes used to run the catfish place in Abbeville. Was a popping place in it's time. It's fit to be demoed now, a former shell of it's glory days.

Shouldn't be any ACT tournament guys out there now. They are on a 30 day off limit rule according to the ACT. They can't practice or prefish until 4 days ahead of the tournament. The tournament is the 26th start date so that leaves them a couple more weeks. Not saying cheaters aren't abundant, just pointing it out. Hopefully ACT has spotters in place, be embarrassing to get disqualified after a supposed victory for breaking minor rules.. ! Guess Grenada off limits soon, very nice for us weekend warriors anyhow [emoji23]

They were out there ran into them Friday Saturday Sunday Monday they told me off limits was this past Wednesday. They never found the big ones.
Thanks crappie24, I looked again that makes sense considering the Sardis tournament is the 2019 championship. That makes sense that the rule won't go into effect until the Guntersville tournament, because it's technically the beginning of the 2020 season.
