Very nice fish! Hope you guys are catching fish on Patoka and Glendale. Keep posting your results. Spring is almost here! Wife saw 3 butterflies Sunday. :fish
Also forgot to mention that only 12 males out of 35 that were cleaned, remaining female...of which had swelling egg sacks....warmer winter making this an earlier spawn once these temps start climbing

I need a couple of days to still recuperate from the beating and long hours I took the past 14 days of setting and running the Indy Sports Shows. Still cleaning up from it then will be ready, but have a show for the next 6 weekends to visit working on next year. No rest for the wicked. rotfl

43.15 deg is the warmest I have seen. Can’t find the crappie in the borrow pit I fish. Those are Asian carp in the photo unfortunately. Lots of blue gill schooled up in 20’ of water but they are all dinks.

40 degrees today at the Cutright launch as I checked it with a portable temp gage at Monroe. Only saw one boat on the main lake side fishing the riprap of Hwy 446.
Boggs was 41 degrees today.
Fished a shallow bayou off Wabash for a couple hours today when a rain front rolled in. Water was 44deg and clean. Caught a few blacks off wood in about 4.5 feet of water once the wind laid down a bit.

It was 44 at Hardy Lake yesterday. Yellow bass were active in shallower water. The only crappie I could find were whites in 45 feet of water. I ended up going to Salem for my wife’s alumni basketball game and got to put in at John Hay for an hour afterwards. Stayed around the dock at John Hay where it was 45 degrees but I only caught a few largemouth.
Starke co IN 41 yesterday

Who ever decided to put yellow bass in indiana waters should be fired!!!!! These waters will never be same.
Yellow bass are same member of the family of white bass and striped bass. Eat them! :biggrin And they have a life span of six years.
I guess I’m lucky I don’t remember what it used to be as I’ve only fished it about three years. I always catch a bunch of dinks with 6-10 mixed in that make the limit. Good thing about Hardy is that it’s easily accessible. Except now with the new East end bridge I can get to Taylorsville Lake driving an extra 20 minutes.
I don’t mind getting into a bunch of white bass and I wouldn’t mind getting into a bunch of yellows either. These fish no doubt compete with crappie so if I find myself in the middle of a white bass feeding frenzy I fill the freezer and I don’t feel bad about it.

41-44 degrees at John Hay yesterday, depending on where you were. Crappie were right on the bottoming 26-30 foot of water. They were just barely pecking at the minnow on my drop shot rig. Kept two for dinner, a 12.5 and 10.5 (both males).
