Alright gentlemen, I’ve came up with some ideas and I tied several jigs today. I’m going to post 1 jig a day until my ideas run out. Criticism is appreciated. Attachment 366601 first one I call silver Shad

Usually I like the chenille to go all the way to the jig head. But the small red thread neck on that jig is a nice touch.
I tie those also, great tie and colors, I also wrap the front of jig like you do. Congrats
I like to think of the red as gills hopefully it will lead to a few more strikes

That jig is going to be one of your favorites. I’ve tied them for a while in 3 sizes black heads are another option. Very nice work and the redneck is a good touch, I’ve never used that, but I’ll give it a shot now. Another chenille I want to suggest is the gray/silver fleck wooly bugger chenille. Gives a fuller look and still has some flash.
That's a nice one! Being as I'm new at this, I'd say it's a pretty good fish catcher...and my only critique would be to add more wraps of the red thread.

If you tie something you don't like anymore under the body, the silver chinelle will look plump like a tasty minnow . Did it on this Attachment 366628

I think that will work with the best of them. I personally like a Lil more body but hey, fish don't care.

I really like this one with the Silver Mylar body and think it will catch a lot of fish, but just personally I put a FL Blue tail on the jigs I tie with the Silver Crystal and they do well also.Quote:

Danville Floss, but think you can just use the Danville Red Nylon 210 denier thread. I have a bunch of Floss already so I use it, but you probably can buy some floss. I will check next time I call them to see how it comes. I have had mine so long now. The woman that use to take the calls also was part of the family that owned the business and she passed away a few years ago. I must admit it cost me because she would do so many favors for me with all kind of items. Still I miss her so much too just because we became good friends over our 10-12 years of talking.
I would have to loom to see just how much I have, know it's more than I will ever need.

If you want a thicker body you can double wrap the chenille. All you do is do as you normally do except don't make the first wraps as tight as normal (unless your dealing with 1/8 or larger head) except when you get it trapped at the head start to wrap the thread over the chenille again like the first time, then when you start to wrap back to the head again make sure to keep the wraps tight against each other to the head and whip finish.
It may take a little practice, but it's normal when using regular size chenille on a 1/8 or larger head.
