Sam's Club has Duracell group 31 deep cycle marine batterys for $99.00
Does Sam's ever put their AGMs on sale?

Not as cheap as Sam's Club, but Napa makes a really good battery their group 31's are around $120. Just in case you are not a member of Sam's Club. The $99 deal at Sam's is a really good deal though for Group 31's.
From what I've read NAPA and Sam's Duracell (among others) are made by same outfit East Penn in USA and have good reviews. Club prices much better. Gonna have bosslady take me to Sam's since I'm not a member, but this will certainly lead to more expenditures I'm afraid.

I'm planning on getting me some new batteries soon myself and I was going to get the 31's from Sam's myself and then I got to looking at the AGM's but can't decide if there worth the extra money or if they would last any longer while pulling cranks.
I am not sure how much better the AGM might be, but last year I could run my new regular wet cell batteries (24 volt system) pulling cranks at anywhere from 1.2 - 2 MPH for 8 hours, using heading sensor, cruise control and all and still have 25% batteries remaining using an 80 Lb Terrova on a pretty heavy 18 ft boat. I am about to enter year two of the batteries on the 24V system, so it might fade some, but I am hoping it will still get me 6-8 hours at pretty good speeds. I would say that if you can AGM's for very little extra to do it, but if they are a lot higher, I think you would be fine using a quality wet cell battery. I am not very savvy on AGM batteries, but if you hear of them being a ton better, I would love to hear details. Good luck on your search!
My last set of wet cell batterys lasted 7 years....usually I only get 5 years. But I have a MinnKota 330d on board charger I keep it plugged up 24/7 when I am not fishing and I check my batterys and top off the water twice a year.
7 years is incredible, wish we could all duplicate that!
I put these on last year. So far so good. My batteries aren’t mounted level so I had to do something different.

Guess I am fortunate in the battery department. I can buy refurbed Interstate batteries through work for $45 each!!
Just bought 3 group 31's today.
They are practically brand new batteries, new case (black), new plates and new studs. Just no stickers on them.
I just got my new Sam's Club booklet. They are offering $20 off all of their Duracell marine batteries. Sale runs Feb. 26th through March 22nd.

I own a couple of NAPA stores and we can get the AGM, Optima, NAPA Industrial group 31s. When looking at batteries check the warranty. It differs on the different models. NAPA Batteries are one of the largest lines NAPA sells in most stores. You are almost assured a fresh batteries as they are ordered frequently. My stores are serviced by East Penn Manufacturing in East Penn PA.
Not knocking the other battery people at all but do have specific information on the NAPA Brand. With the price of lead surging batteries continue to increase in cost. Warranty is what the big difference is when buying batteries regardless of the brand.
12 month warranty on most flooded cell batteries I've looked at. Is NAPA warranty better?
I bought two Duracell yesterday Sam's.

Reserve capacity (RC) and/ or Amp hours (AH) ratings are of most importance for deep cycle discharge applications such as trolling. Sent from my SM-J737A using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I too run the Duracell Group 31 deep cycle and MinnKota charger. Both have worked great.
Haven't asked at Sam's, but Costco will refund the difference if something goes on sale within 7 days. I would ask.

That's great. The savings paid for part of your membership fees.
Will be buying 2 AGMs from them in the next week or so.

I just bought a interstate 31 with a 3 year warranty. A little pricey at 340.00 . I looked at Sam's but don't know anything about the Duracell's and it only came with a year warranty. Still need some trolling batteries

I use Walmart Everstart Platinum AGM batteries for my pontoon. They have a five year warranty.
I just looked on Sam's Club website. The Duracell AGM Platinum group 31 has an 18 month free replacement warranty, currently on sale for $159.95.
