I can fish off the back porch ! But everything ok so far.
Yeah we're ok by the Columbia airport rain but nothing like they said we were going to get took out 3 boards on the pond just to be safe schools let out early and some businesses closed early. My Dr's office called at 1:00 to cancel my appointment I had at 2:05 due to weather.

I was taking one of the two days I worked the past weekend off to fish on Monday but now I think I'll just save that day until the trash and mud clears some. Maybe by the end of Feb?!?
BTW, @ 4" and still raining here.

We survived just fine just lots of rain. Our son and daughter in law have 3 trees on their home, one crushed their shed and trees fell on her new car. My daughter in law and 4 year old grandson hid in a closet when the tornado hit their house. But the most important thing is that they didn't get hurt! They live off Park road in Charlotte.

Whew! Glad they made it thru that tornado unharmed. Lots of strong winds out there today with all this saturation. I hope the damages stay to a minimum.
Made it okay in Columbia area a lot of rain and mud.

Glad everyone is okay! Going to be a tough time to recover from all this rain and wind damage. I only had about nine vehicles come into the center yesterday, I know I'll catch heck today! Anyone want to work for me today? :scratchhead
We had the normal flooding across the road, and raging rapids across our front yard, limbs down but no damage .
I have been pestering NCDOT about the pipe under the road, it's been crushed and rotten for years so the water runs over it. Some day one of the school buses will fall in and turn over then they'll fix it.
Catawba river is flooding areas and washing away back roads down this way I went to number 9 landing and could only get halfway down that road had to back up the hill went by fishing creek the main channel looked like white water Rapids it was flowing so fast had trees down on 21 so couldn't go look at natrolee bridge to see how much water they were releasing

Thank you. The hard part was waiting for the insurance adjuster since we could not do much until he arrives this morning. We have a tree guy lined up to start this afternoon. And a roofing guys for Sunday afternoon to tarp the roof. But everyone is safe. Just a reminder to enjoy every minute, not to dwell on the small things in life and respect mother nature!Sent from my SM-G973U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Snowing like crazy here in Weddington. it dropped 4 degrees in the last 1/2 mile getting home.
If the area gets that much more rain this coming week, there could be some really nasty flooding in addition to what has already happened. Lakes Hartwell, Russell, and Thurmond (Clarks Hill) are all near 3 ft above full pool. They are talking about opening the flood gates for potentially all three. I am sure other lakes in the area are in no better shape. This could get really bad.

I noticed when I crossed the 74 bridge this morning, they are drawing the lake way down. I know the houses up around Mt. Island Lake are prone to flooding. Our neighbor had 6 big pines that either snapped or uprooted last week, and we had 3 trees on our property line to snap off.
