O What a night

So I have a fellow CDC friend in the area and we decided to chase the elusive crappie Fri night. Got out and set up just before dark and then the fun began in my boat at least. My friends were within yelling distance were on the fish but not as good as we were doing. But still catching some, the only difference I could identify was I use halogen bulbs and they were using LEDs. When we decided to call it I had a 2 man limit and they had a nice mess. Update, the other 2 CDC family members have tried 2 nights and days since with no luck compared to my Fri night. So I am going to take them out within the next couple of nights to see for sure that what I have seen before about LEDs not as productive as good old white flood lights.

with the spawn as close as it is in your part of the world I bet some more barn burner trips are in the near future .

We are starting to find alot of fish in full blown spawn, hanging on the bottom and not moving or biting for any reason. These back to back low pressure systems are definitely putting a hurt on the bite.

Great trip Rob, but way to many fish for me to clean. Hope you and Tina are doing well.

were you on lake wales? where were the fish? around your light circle, deeper?

I had help cleaning since I had help catching that mess [emoji28]. We are doing good, thanks for asking, hope you and your queen are good also.

Lake Kissimmee fish were at 6 to 8 feet in 15fow. Most are caught just outside of the white lights

8 x 2lbs or bigger in one night???? That's insane to me! i have never caught one that big ever We need to speed up global warming so the fish in MN can grow bigger :)

Yep I’m the other CDC member. He put a good ole Whoopin on usKy boys! We had 18 fish that night. Using minnows. I had the sauce. It was killing us sitting there scratching our heads? What were we doing wrong? I don’t know. I didn’t have a generator plus I was using LED lights with high lumen output. I was just a few yards from the hot spot I guess.
We did fish different lakes during the daytime and had great results. We were in Florida for 10 days. We brought home 250 crappie. 68 bags of fillets. We managed some over 2 pounds. I just haven’t gotten the night fishing thing down yet. But Mr Rob has it down to a science. Very organized had the boat rigged and ready to go. We had a great trip. It was good putting a face with a name. His wife was very nice. He is a Great fisherman.

Junkie, you are going to ruin my bad reputation [emoji1787] just remember that you called yourself out...lol..had a great time and enjoyed meeting and fishing with you and Paul. Hopefully next trip down I can get ya'll on a limit kind of night.
