Well I really wanted to tie a jig using this and this 1/8 Oz head was just sitting in my tray and even though it has a #2 Sickle hook, I just used it.

Looks awesome as always Skip. Hmm, can't remember if I have this chenille from you or not...lol.
Looks better than a fresh moon pie
That is a pretty chenille Skip!! Looks like soft plastic color called sprayed grass for bass lures too
Looking good. As always.
Thank you guys, I have had this a good while, but just never included it in my pics. So decided last time I ordered from Danville that I would get some to see if anyone else likes it.
I really need to of the pics again because they are just not all that good.
It's still kind of hard to see the colors well in the pic, but the chenille is Green, Gold and Purple!

Skip I still have the pic you originally sent of this chenille. I forgot to look to see if I have it at the house.

Being new to tying, what size Chenille do I need to use for tying Crappie type jigs? I like the Chenille in the photo!

Well that is something that in the end you need to discover what you like to tie with and also what size jigs you want to tie. Lots use #2 and this can be sued on small jigs line 1/32 or smaller and also can be used on 1/8 as long as you double wrap it. I like size #3 most in New Age due to most of it having Crystal in it which makes it less dense and #3 will help fill that better IMHO!
There is also a need for size #2 especially if you use a two color Rayon or Nylon because if you get a #3 someone has to pick a dominate color which will change the look of it. I do really like some of these too, like my FL Yellow and Black and also know when FL Yellow is put with Black or Blue it will look like FL Chartreuse, nt sure why, but it just does.
Now the chenille on this jig is Crystal and some use like a #3 or some sizes like that, but I like #10 & #12. I use is on jigs as small as 1/32 Oz Roadrunners or as large as 1/4 Oz. The material when wet will lay back some showing even more of its shiny color and also make it smaller body that it looks here when dry.

Nice looking tie!
What is that little device you use to hold the jig while taking pictures of it?
Can you post a better pic, where did you get it?

Hi Redge,
Sure I will post a pic of it. It' just what they call a Hook and Hackle Pliers and it's a true sorry Hackle Pliers and more useful just to hold a jig or fly, lol!
I have several extra's if you want one? I even have some in their original little bag.

Hey Super Dave! I know this is an old post, but where can I get that Madri Grăs chenille??? Hit me up on [email protected]. Thanks
Okay, I know this is 3 years old, but the truth never ages.
There is nothing better than a fresh Moon Pie...
Unless it's a fresh Moon Pie and a Cheerwine.

Slab tried Cheerwine when he came to NC. I'm not sure he was a fan of it......lol.
He is a Yankee....lack of refined taste. The cold and road salt dulls the senses.
Bless His Heart.
