Opinions? Problems?
What year
I had a 09. Couldn’t get the exhaust cans to hold up. My 15 was bullet proof I’m told the new ones are eating transmissions they are so strong. I looked closely and chose a gas burner being I only tow under ten thousand lbs.
I own a 2011 love it. I did install a tow package to mine as well as deleted it. All the power you want and it gets between 18 and 21 miles .
I'm looking at a new 2500 Ram Laramie 4X4 short bed with the Cummins. I tow my Triton and a 32' RV trailer. Drove a new GMC Sierra 2500HD 4X4 Duramax, $79000 scared me. And GM has really cut back their available colors, only red, white, black standard, few others you pay extra for.
:ThumbsUp from the mechanics at my shop on the newer models.
I own a 2017 4500 with the 6.7. It's a service truck for my business, loaded down with a knapheide bed, 225 gallon water tank, generator and a bunch of tools and such. Plus often towing a 12,000# trailer most days. So far only issues was a water pump that was replaced as a recall concern. It' a good truck, it burns diesel and DEF fluid a lot quicker then the 6.7 powerstroke's. Without a trailer getting 11 miles to a gallon, with a trailer it's more like 9. That is my only issue that I can find with it so far. My diesel mechanic said bring it to him when I first bought it and get the full delete done on it, told him not a chance with 100,000 miles of warranty left, lol. And another thing if it's an option in the size truck your looking at get the heavy duty transmission :twocents
What does deleting it do?
It overrides the EGR / DEF emission functions. You take off the factory exhaust and straight pipe them and get rid of all those filters that in essence choke the engine. You no longer need to use the diesel exhaust fluid and get a programmer, you can set your HP needs to your application whether it's towing a heavy load or not. It's highly illegal especially in the not so great state of California, where they have more people living in one city then we have in 4 states combined :Rofl
Thanks, I have a 2003 F250 with a 6.0 powerstroke and I have heard or people doing deletes on them.
No sir, 2003 was way ahead of the emissions control we have now. You probably mean they were bullet proofed, it's a whole backdrop on those 6.0 engines. I will say this, I know 1 who has a 2006 factory 6.0 with out a days trouble in almost 300k miles, only replaced a transmission. If you have a 2003 6 liter with no troubles to date you got a good one then, keep on trucking [emoji106]

Got the Ram 3500 (yeah, 3500) Laramie 2 with Cummins HO & Aisin HD trans plus goodies down to $53000 & change. I'm leaning............... They're light on the trade for my 2011 GMC 2500HD SLT, we're talking. I may order it.
Keep pushing, they will come up on the trade value long before they will let you go elsewhere Sent from my SM-G970U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
They low balled my trade. Considerable.
Bought a 2020 GMC 3500HD Sierra SLT X31 with Duramax & Allison. Got $4000 more on my trade-in and the new truck was really close to the Ram price.
Chiefs! red metallic.

Just back from a test drive on a crappy day. Looks a lot better after they shined it up. Trying to figure out all the toys, whistles, bells, gizmos.
You will be figuring out all the buttons for a while [emoji1787]Sent from my SM-G970U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
