but be sure to sink them so the top is not out of the water! :Rofl
birds gotta perch too along with white perch …..
look at the bright side yawl , if you hang up in it …..
its your own fault because you can see where NOT to put your jig …..:Rofl
you know I have depth charged me a many piles that didn't go down well my friend :Rofl
I sank one in the wind one day and the weight came off when it hit bottom .
it came up like a rocket and the wind sailed it across the lake while I watched in horror rotfl
Lol. That’s a sinking feeling. I sank a few last year that went vamos with the floods. It looks like spring is coming early this year though. I need to get on a few ASAP
That bamboo was full of slabs at first light today btw
Still hit and miss. Yesterday it was all miss after I braved the cold and watch the sun come up to greet the day. One 2" bluegill was my only reward for being out so early on a cold day.
Today was a different matter. Caught some nice ones before I had to leave. BTW, I finally got the gates and lock on the slips as you have been requesting. Now I need to remember to give you the combination so you can get in to fish. And you know how bad my memory is. :Rofl
am old but can still climb pretty well …...just saying
and i know a fella :Rofl
No, that might be going a little too far since I am not at the slips all the time to protect them. I am going to tee off enough folks with the gates and lock without rubbing salt into their wounds.
But the No TressTRESPASSINGpassing signs were a subtle enough hint that I did install the second gate and locks. Like being hit in the head with a 2 x 4 type hint. :Rofl
I did like the leave them on the bow of the big house boat deck under the bucket so they are visible but not posted .
nice touch on that one too …..:Rofl
Trouble is the crappie thought the "No Trespassing" signs were for them. We caught almost nothing last night and what few we caught were small. :Rofl
But I caught more than you did. :fingerdance Even if I did cheat and use minnows. Devil Icon
Question:
The lake I fish is an irrigation impoundment.
During winter draw down the deepest spot is 30 ft. High water mark can be 70 ft.
It is a lowland lake and there is very little cover. Just where would one sink stuff here?
drops offs are the best places along channel edges . put them at lots of different depths so when the lake fluctuates you will still have good locations . the depths your fish like to hold at would be a great start and then deeper and shallower to allow for the ups and downs .
use hard wood if you can and it will be there longer . some hardwoods last a good while in the water . pvc is also a stay for ever thing . I know lots of folks that like old plastic lawn chairs too .
It’s been a tough start to the year for sure. Creeks and docks alike. They’ll definitely be in y’all’s vicinity before too long though.

I like that you don’t use those forever plastic tube thingies. Bamboo is a great choice.
