I use a lot of Sliders for crappie and bass. I have never tried the Charlie Bee with the willow blade but just ordered a few to try. I like the 1 3/8 inch length to try in colder water times. Anyone use these with success?

They should work fine. I fish my pony head blades year round with great success

I like Colorado personally over willow. But willow is getting a lot of play now days. I would try both. Still coming out of anistisa but not doing bad at allQuote:

I tied some jigs like the whirly bee and they did well. The fish liked em fine but the trees kept em for good, haven’t tied any more yet but this is a good reminder.
This thread got me interested in the bladed sliders. I was wondering if you can take off the blade to put a new plastic on? seeing it looks like they come pre rigged
The Charlie Bee style even comes with replacement plactic bodies. The styles with the blade attached to the hook MAY be able to remove the blade and reattach. Not sure.

If I'm going that small in a bladed bait, then I'll use a Road Runner ... but I have used the Pro Whirly Bee with success. The Whirly Bee blade assembly is held onto the hook by a small plastic retainer bead .... but I don't know about the Slider w/blade. But, you wouldn't think it would have any such retainer, as that would not allow changes to the plastic grub. It likely just has the swivel eye big enough to slip over the hook point, and would have to be removed and put back on for each plastic grub change. The Charlie Bee is built similar to a Road Runner.
