25,000 memory maker GONE in just mere minutes !
That's right yawl , its a sad day here in Texas . The SS minnow has finally been put down for the count . She ran hard as any boat out there for 5 years thru wind and sleet and heat and you name it . She hit lakes from far east Texas to way west Texas , She went north to the border and south to Waco . She managed to help me ketch well over 25,000 crappie during her voyages to and fro and at last she has to go .
We took a saws all to her yesterday after lunch and it was so fast to cut her up it wasn't funny . SK will get the 40 zebra motor off her and I don't know who wants the trailer just yet ,but to be sure the ole 1963 13 foot Boston Whaler wont be hitting the water anymore .
She sure did well for me and I miss her terribly . she was fast like a rabbit and could turn on a dime and was like having a bad boy go cart as boat ride .
The good news is the wife keeps mentioning I need to get another boat :highfive
So after we said our good byes my bud and I went over for a bit to visit the boat slips at Ez's place and took a chicken basket for each of us and had lunch and played with the crappie under the dock for a while .
I did manage to ketch one real nice one and a handful of others and in the end I got home and collected eggs from the chickens and fed my dog and said my final good bye to the boat of my boy hood dreams . I always wanted a 13 ft Boston whaler since I was a preteen and by golly my wish came true in 2012 for a mere 2600 US dollars complete with a graph ,trolling motor ,life jackets and water ready .
So never say never , it could happen .
and that ladies and gentleman is my story and I am sticking to it
KABOOM is the word :cheers2
