Yea it is kind of cold here too. But by Friday, thru part of next week, our highs will be in the 40's.
Couple of places here in central PA are at higher elevations and typically ice up faster and hold their ice for a longer time...and both hold decent crappie populations in addition to other panfish.
Black Moshannon- Centre County
Hills Creek- Tioga County
Here’s what I do until we get decent ice over this way.

Looks promising for Saturday in the northcentral mountains. Just read that Ricketts Glen (in the Endless Mountains region) has 5" of ice as of today, 12/19/2019. I'm getting the gear ready for a Saturday morning outing.
Lake Jean is the actual name of the lake. It's a LONG way from Sharon...Sullivan County, PA. Also, it's all catch-and-release until January 1 because it was drained two years ago for repairs to the dam, but the PFBC reported the fish populations as recovering faster than they expected.
It's looking like a couple of the lakes in Tioga County are going to be fishable tomorrow....Hills Creek and Beechwood. They're a lot closer to Sharon although still a trip for you. I'll post later this afternoon. If you want to come out, I'd be delighted to meet you.
Latest update from this morning at Hills Creek...Tackle Shack in Wellsboro reported 4-5 inches on the lake. Should get a little more tomorrow.Attachment 362239
Check out Hotels.com....some good prices there. I'm messaging you.
I'm jealous, next few days of warmer weather will melt the ice in western pa. Let us know how they are biting.

You guys are hard core! Have fun - I’m just cleaning my reels! LOL

Had a few hours on the ice. Marked a fair number of fish, but very sluggish biting. We caught some bluegill and a perch, and got this pickerel on a tip-up (returned to the water). Looking forward to January.
BTW- a guy about 50 yards from us caught three nice black crappie, but again the bite was sluggish.Attachment 362384
I went across the causeway at Pmy yesterday, the lake was still froze over as far as you could see, both north and south. I don't know thick it was, but it can't last in this weather
