Sounds like a lot of fun. Never been able to make it to Toledo Bend Gathering. But, since I missed the D'Arbonne Gathering I am going to try. Have to wait and see what our schedule looks like for May after it is posted in a couple of months.
Sorry to miss it again, but I have a schedule conflict on that weekend.

I tried for a couple of years to make a gathering but something always came up. Last year my wife, my fishing buddy and myself were able to make the Toledo Bend gathering and it did not disappoint! Everybody was so nice and it was really good to meet people face to face that I'd only talked to across a computer screen.Quote:

I don't plan to ever miss another gathering and I can't wait till May to roll around to see everybody again. If anybody is thinking about going I say do it... you won't regret it! Good times for sure.
Does anybody have plans on doing a Saline/ Larto gathering this spring or anytime coming up, we'd like to go to that one!

Tried it for years but after only having 2, at max 3 members show up, I gave up! It use to be really big before the Darbonne gatherings took place. Please do not take this as a blast against Darbonne because I LOVE THEIR GATHERINGS! Wife went with me this year to it and had a blast! Just wish we could have a big one at Larto too.Quote:

Officially, Friday, Saturday & Sunday....some folk come earlier and some stay later....spouses,kids and friends welcome.....sometimes, we go out to eat on Thursday nite at a restaurant...there will be discussion later bout that....Friday and Saturday nite we get together for a pot luck supper on the grounds somewhere...everyone brings something each nite....Saturday nite we usually fry any fish caught...during the day is your own time to spend as you wish...supper is usually around 6 PM....Quote:

I just reserved cabin #3 Thursday to Sunday. Couldn’t stand the thought of missing this gathering again. I still have a schedule conflict as mentioned in an earlier post, so I might not get to fish on Saturday.

Whats happening those days?
Folks start arriving at San Miguel on Thursday and usually get together for an evening meal at a local restaurant. On Friday we fish or just visit, then have a pot luck supper at the pavilion. We fish and visit again on Saturday and Saturday night have a big gathering and fish fry at the pavilion. Come join us and see. You’ll have a good time!Quote:

hoping that my fishin buddies are well and not sufferin with this stupid virus!!! are we still going to have the spring fling?? is the park going to be open? most of the parks in texas are closed but the ramps are open.....no facilities. crappie catchin on raburn is starting to turn on.. went this past week and caught and kept quite a few. the ramp parking looked like a holiday weekend!!!! if ya didnt get there early ya parked on the street......crazy!!! hape yall are safe and havin fun!!!
As of now, yes.....it’s still a month and half away.
All nonessential businesses are closed in La, by Governors order...I will call the park Monday April 13th and see whats going on.....

They may not reopen till May 1st. Sabine parish is lifting the short term rental ban at that time. I’m not sure if the pavilion and gathering of more than 10 people will be lifted then.Quote:

As of now the Sabine River Authority parks are set to reopen on May 4th.
I will most likely NOT be able to attend this years event. If I stay on our current schedule, I will be working that weekend and if we go back to our normal schedule, I will have an outage at work and won't be able to attend either. Hate to miss it but got to pay them bills!
